Re: Other Skater

Nobody talked about Michelle's footwork before Sashas? Could it possibly be that no one saw Michelle's footwork before Skate America? Michelle has started to keep her programs from "prying eyes", meaning that not competing in the GP series no one knows what she is doing and thus cannot copy any of her moves! Other skaters (won't mention names) would see what Michelle was doing and then funny thing- -their programs would magically change during the season to reflect some of what Michelle was doing.

Michelle and Sasha both were involved in COI after the Olys--maybe, just maybe, the footwork came about at the same time? Who's to really say which skater had it first? And does it really matter? In any case aren't we glad they both had sequences that had their fans extolling their "moves"? ;)

Re: Other Skater

People who saw Michelle's SP at Skate America reported her incredible footwork pass. However, most people were not able to see it because SA wasn't broadcast. So the talk was most definitely there before Sasha first competed her sp at Skate Canada, not that it even matters.

IMHO, both Sasha and Michelle's footwork sections were fabulous. For me though, at Nationals Sasha's looked a little mechanical and Michelle's flowed very naturally. Sasha has such talent, but she makes everything look like she's trying too hard to me. Just MHO.

Any one watched Arakawa's FW in LP, IMO her fw if done with a little more emotion will rival Kwan's.

All of those FW are choegraphed by Moroz (sorry for name spelling). However only Kwan performed like her own. Arakawa performed more like Yagudin than Sasha. Sasha's too chopy even with the parts performed on edgs. There are edges steps same in Sasha's and Arakawa's while Arakawa performed with much fluid smooth edges. And Arakawa covered ice fully from the end to end even more than michelle.

So, IMO, the correct comparision of streight line FW should between Michelle and Arakawa not Sasha.

I just loved Michelle's foot work for this past season. Anxiously waiting to see what the upcoming season will bring.

Both!

Both Sasha and Michelle kicked butt with their footwork! Sasha's was more intense and Michelle's was more dramatic!
