Ladies only,
Purely based on 'poetic justice (within the ISU saga)'
I would say

1. Yu-na (how can you deny it to this girl who could have got gold at the two last worlds, especially when the GF is in Korea)
2. Joannie (I sense a very good vibe from her (smell and feel of success) and she's got a lot going for her this season)
3. Mao (all her triple axel hype makes her look like a next-generation fuel-cell car which should perform far better than traditional ones, but not quite there yet)
4. Carolina (Yawn, but I respect her, and more importantly, 'they' respect her)
5. Yukari (another hugely underrated skater)
6. Miki (well, what can I say?)

Men... I do not know. Everyone looks so good and so wonderful.....

Gold: Either Joubert (if his LP has improved) or Tomas (unless nerves get the best of him).

Silver: Either Weir (if he is nearly clean. it seems that he needs to increase base value to get Silver or Gold) or PatChan (if he suddenly becomes consistent on 3A);

Bronze: Either Kozuka or Abbott

Ladies
1./2. Yu-Na Kim KOR (she seemed to be nearly perfect at the last events).

2./1. Mao Asada JPN (she is very unpredictable, but I put her here because she did well at 4CC in Korea after skating well at Nationals in Japan last season. yet, I still believe that Yuna has a much better chance)

3. Joannie Rochette CAN (I wish she takes Gold, but it does not seem to happen unless Yuna and Mao mess up)

4. Carolina Costner ITA (I'd wish if she is on the podium, but too many more consistent competitors here. I'd love to see her clean someday, somewhere though)

5. Yukari Nakano JPN (She is consistent, but does not seem to have the quality in her techniques comparable to a clean Yuna, a clean Mao, a clean Joannie, and a clean Caro, except for her superb spins)

6. Miki Ando JPN (Her major strength is her jumps. Her recent tendency to get DG on her 3R in her combo really hurts her).

I'm just going to put in ladies for now...

1. Yu-Na Kim
2. Mao Asada
3. Miki Ando
4. Carolina Kostner
5. Joannie Rochette
6. Yukari Nakano

I think Mao will also skate a slightly different program during the GPF, she will replace the 3T with 3Lz and then possible add a 3T to her final double axel. I highly doubt she will only skate a 6 triple program instead of a 7.

Ladies:
Kim:coz it's held in Korea, and she's in good state(sounds she's healthy so far, and I'm really tired of the everlasting "perfect" discussion) so I think it would be less meaningless "discussion" here if she wins....

Rochette: I wish she got gold considering what she did in the past few years. competetion is often affected by many situations, but what if she landed perfect triple combos, I'll put her first...

Kostner or Asada :well... considering Kosrner did have a great comeback, I think she's more competitive; while Asada, say I doubt her stability, and she has neither triple combo nor lutz in her recent FS

Ando or Nakano: If Ando could land quad in the FS, then I'll put her in the first place. Nakano, since she's still suffering from ankle-ache (?), I think she won't try her best

Men:
Chan,Joubert, Kozuka: I think the chance for them to win is equal
Weir: I wish he can stand on the podium
Abbott, Verner: they will win whenever the other four are not in good status, or they have a better performance while others do make some mistakes

Overall, I think the competition between men is fierce, not easy to predict:unsure:

Ladies only:

1. Yuna Kim ( She just owns the GPF)
2. Joannie ( small glitches here and there, but nothing serious)
3. Carolina Kostner ( she is looking pretty good in this early season in contrast to the years before)
4. Yukari Nakano ( 1-2 downgrades will have her in 4th place, as usual :-( )
5. Mao Asada ( stumble throughout or she won't even participate if some koreans plan attacks on her : )
6. Miki Ando ( downgrades and uninspiring programs)

At the beginning of the GP series, I thought Mao and YuNa had the gold and silver sewed up in whatever order. The bronze was a battle for the other Ladies. However, I am now thinking that Joannie might even get a gold but Carolina is such a judge favrorite that for me, the whole field is a bit topsy turvy. And there are other gals there who do some really good skating. I think it could be a very interesting comp.

Without Buttle, Lambiel and Daisuke, the Men's event is not as compelling as when that trio was still around. However, a good contest with Brian, Patriick and Johnny in whatever order you think. For me, no one has a lock on this. Verner is so iffy and I believe Jeremy is not ready for this as much as he will be next year.
I would like to see Yannik in this to continue building his confidence but he's a skater in waiting.

The Pairs are the least interesting. Same teams as in the past. Pick your
choice!

Six well-eperienced Skate Dance Teams battle for the Gold. Unfortunatley, no Virtud/Moir to make my day. So I will pick Khoklova/Novitsky.whom I enjoy most from this lot.
