Amodio in huge meltdown, wearing a biker version of a matador suit. The whole thing looks like plether and the bolero jacket (with epaulets) is in folds and slashes. Red gores in the pants

Good to know that by the time the big competitions come around - the French return to their old habit of screwing it up when it counts. Préaubert at Universiade, Amodio here (he might make the Top Ten with a good freeskate) - Joubert and Ponsero will probably barely save those two spots for France at Worlds with a 13th and a 14th place :banging:

Curran Oi to a very strangely edited version of Phantom of the Opera. He has a V neck blouse with black on black sparklies, which would look over ornate if you could actually see it on the small screen. And black pants and white w/black gloves.

3A 3F3t 3Lz out of f/w with 3 spread eagles. A bit sloppy on the spins.

69.44 SB into 3rd place and way underscored IMO

I am sorry to say that I just have to agree with you on that one. How did he react in the K&C ?

Kevin Reynolds looking like a toy soldier Cossack with fake tall black boots, black pants and a short red military jacket with a ton of gold braid patterns on the front, gratuitous red rags on the cuff top of his long red & black gloves, and gold braided cuffs.

He is supposed to be skating to Armenian Folk Music, but who knew the Armenians had teh hot marimba and skat singing interspersed?

Universiade is a big competition? Really? There were some good skaters there (the Zhangs, Yukari) but any men's event in which the winning score is lower than what you might see from the ladies is suspect IMO.

I doubt Eurosport will show the full LP for the guys, so I probably won't be able to watch Florent redeem himself (or not).

Grigoriev needs to work on spins, but this skate was his best to date. He's been around for a while. Nice to see improvements.

Russian TV might be showing it, I'm glad to see I'm not the only Florent fan remaining in the building.

Who knows why Curran's PCS were low? I thought he skated very well. enlight78 thought he looked tired at the end..perhaps that's why.

To be fair, I've never watched him skate. I just tend to like the French skaters and was hoping for my first glimpse of the next generation (I hope this is just a bad day).

Brian Joubert did Junior Worlds once, and finished 15th. So there's hope yet! :)

I don't think he looked as good as Brezina and Adam... Whom the judges seem to feel are in a class by themselves. Frankly I think Brezina can still win this if Adam has issues with that triple axel. But Brezina has to go clean.

Florent is amazing, I guess he wanted it to badly... But he'll learn from it. He reminds me of a young Lambiel but with a triple axel.

I saw Curran's skating at Liberty Open or JGP Merano and his presentation really is not extraordinary. And due to his average presentation qualities Phantom of the Opera is bad choise of music for him.

Wasn't Joubert like 15 back then? He moved up to seniors very quickly, never looked back to the juniors and won the Bronze at Euros at the age of 17.

Amodio turns 19 in May. He is, from a dancing and artistic standpoint, much more talented than Joubert in my opinion - they share the great basics and a certain confidence in their performances.
