I went to high school with a girl who's last name was McDonough and it was pronounced "uh" as in duh

The announcer pronounced it "duh" last night, as have all the announcers for AP's events, which doesn't mean diddley.

And don't forget, there's the Korean Celtic pronunciation: McDonOW
