I hope Sasha doesn't withdraw. She would have to fake an injury to do so.

I don't think she has to beat anybody to keep her comeback on track. Just show that she is still competive against a tough field.

Prediction for ladies: Caroline Zhang will be the surprise medallist, maybe second.

Another prediction: NBC televison sees what a great pre-Olympic competition this is going to be (not to mention Sasha's debut as the comeback kid) and they decide to televise it in prime time in the U.S.

Nah, she doesn't need to do that. The likelihood of a real one is large enough.

I suspect Kim and Asada will go 1-2 in either order. Rochette is the only one who has proven she can hang up there with them, and she's not present here. Zhang can definitely sneak in 3rd though- absolutely.

The ladies' FS is set for Sunday afternoon (according to the web site). I don't see them tape-delaying the event to Sunday night in any scenario. Plus, I don't know how much flexibility there is in moving the times around. The site didn't say "subject to change" or anything so I'm assuming they're all but set in stone

is it a real prediction thread based on the last 4 years or is just Listing your favorite skaters? We had a HOPE thread last year which made more sense.

3. Nobunari Oda

Ladies:
1. Yu Na Kim
2. Mao Asada
3. Caroline Zhang/Carolina Kostner - if Kostner is on I think she will take the edge, but if she's off I think Zhang will overthrow her and sneak on the podium. Especially if Zhang has fixed her downgrades on her jumps

I can't see Sasha on the podium. At best I can see her 4th, but until we get some practice reports on her, it will be hard to determine what shape she is in.

Kind of early to be predicting stuff but that probably looks to be the most likely outcome based on last season. Notice I said BASED ON LAST SEASON so obviously there's room for things to change, withdrawals, etc.

I can't see Sasha on the podium.

I can't see her showing up at the event.
