Paula Smart

I know not many people here are really "into" Adult Figure Skating, but one of the Matriarchs of the Adult Figure Skating program in the US (second Chair of the Adult Committee and one of the hugest proponents with the ISU for the Adult Open in Obertsdorf) passed away today from Crutchfelds-Jakobs disease. RIP Paula, you certainly deserve it for your service to figure skating.

Paula was instrumental in the development of adult
skating programs as well as serving as the Chair of the Adult Skating
Committee early on. She's one of the people who made the U.S. Adult
Figure Skating Championships a reality for all of us.
