Evan costume is horrible again. do his team try to make the worst costume or do they not see the designs before it is made; All that money on that:disapp:
I have to agree that nothing in that program made me think of firebird but he skated it very well; My respect for his skating just grows and I agree with the placements; the jrs are still very inconsistant

I think the placement was totally right.. Oda was very good again, I also don't like the short very much but liked it more than TEB this time. He's showing great consistency.. Voronov was great with 4T+2T, it always adds excitment to see a good 4T. Evan, again, I didnt like it, take out the music put in anything you like, it will be the same affect. He's very mechanic to me.. And the costume is absolutely horrible.
I felt so utterly bad for Ponsero (the french guy). He has unbelievable speed, great programme, fantastic footwork and great spins. The guy has everything but consistency. The fall on the 4T at the beginning was horrible, how he got up from that I don't know. For me, he had the best programme of the day. What a shame about his overall turnout, yet again..

Oh yes, this chinese guy Guan was also very good, I don't know him from before but he was very musical to me and had very beautiful jumps.

Bravo Evan! Loads of energy and expressions! He is so emotional! Looks like a truly World Chmpion!!!!
His command and overall look on the ice improved so much! Arms on footwork all work into the music, very good footwork. I don't think there were any UR.
Good 3A, 3Lz-3T, 3F. I'm a fan! He looks stunning!
80.80. Into the 3rd place. He looks surprized....me too. I thought he was the best.

I agree! Great skate - especially for the first time out. I was surprised about the edge call on the flip. He's stunning on the ice - very sleek and powerful!

It's starting to be a shame that the Russian men only got 2 spots at Europeans and the Olympics.

Last week I was quite sure that Borodulin might be best for the second spot. But now with this fantastic short by Voronov - Borodulin could never score that much in short program, especially with his edge issues on the Flip and Lutz.

I also want to take that Triple Axel from Voronov and put it on my wall. Just an incredible jump, even better than Plushenko's last week. A Triple Axel that reminded me of Yagudin, Urmanov and Petrenko. We always say not everything is about the jumps, but damn, sometimes it just is and such a Triple Axel can make my day.

Sergej should also consider skating pairs with Ando at some point, both got huge jumps - and their posture would make sure that they skate in sync.

I was just thinking the same thing while watching Voronov. But I thought Russia had only 1 spot for OG?? If they have 2, Im very curious to see who they will send. Same for France, I am still wishing it'll be Ponsero.
Btw, that 4T from Voronov was also beautiful, the jumps in fact were on par with Plushy.

I'm very glad to hear that Sergei skated so well in the SP! He exceeded my expectations today coming out ahead of Evan in the short and I'd  to see he and Oda also finish ahead of Lysacek in the LP.

Did Evan get the highest marks for choreo and musical interpetation
Good thing most of you are not judging or the poor guy would come in last at every event ;)

:p I just wish Evan's jumps were more fluid rather than labored and scratchy and that his arms were not so frantic and flailing all the time.

First three were great! Loved Evan's SP, costume and all. He finally found music where all his arm waving is 100 percent in character. ;)

Yes, some said he was out of character with the music. His "Firebird" was soaring with those flapping arms :p

Isn't a bird supposed to flap it's wings?
Maybe Plush should also skate to Firebird so his arms would make more sense than they do in a Tango ;)

Plushy arms could stay were they are, thank you. Evgeni cannot pull off feathers anyway.
