Ok...

Rochette was def not on tonight...squeaked through that program..but still there is alot of quality there..

Kim was good other than the pop on her 3 flip.

Ando was good and was fast...but choreographically not very good.

Leonova???? i cant believe she got 61! She was a mess. QUOTE]

Mess? For one 3 turn error? You clearly dislike her:biggrin:

Leonova was aweful, imho. I fail to see how that skate of hers could warrant such a score. I was aghast.

If Yuna skates well in the free ( I hope ) , I still don't know if she can be beaten.Of course I can't be entirely objective because much as I admire Miki's skating , I wish she would get away from the monster. I don't think her programs or her costumes do a thing for her , and she seems to be nervous all the time.

Alena's going to give us a lot of fun ..I hope for a long time. And Joannie is less than a point behind.
Just time to pull myself together for the dance...My music channel is playing Valse Triste in the background, I that's a good omen.

I saw the replay of her 3 x3 and her landing foot had to rotate quite a bit to complete the jump.
But it is hard to tell on a stream - if the judges called her they felt it was a ur.

Maybe it was something else, but what?

Her score, considering she missed the flip is still very good.

But Yuna did not look as comfortable as I have seen in the past. I think missing the flip again must have bugged her

Today's tech specialist was the one who gave Yuna the one and only wrong edge call on 3F last season. Nuf said.
IMO the edge call was BS and today's DG is the same BS.

I just hope media leave her alone between now and her LP.

............. Is that the same tech specialist who gave Yuna Level "1" on her step sequence....????

Her 3+3 is usually excellent, but this one was not up to her usual standard.

Yes it was. Excellent speed, height, distance, position, and rotation. It was a brilliant combination that deserved +2 GOE.

Yuna has best 3x3 but that doesn't mean she gets full credit automatically.
I could see how much her blade rotated on the ice to finish the jump.

She isn't finishing the rotation on the ice, her blade simply keeps rotating a bit after landing backwards.

Get out a measuring stick if you don't believe me.

Yu-Na's 3-3 had more height than Lysacek's, Weir's, and Oda's. Better distance than Weir and Oda as well.

But thats' one LP out of many she's skated.

That's what I mean by I don't consider her a clean LP skater.

P.S. I adore Yuna and I hope she can skate 2 programs cleanly back-to-back in Vancouver.

I know, she's a dominant Sp skater, but does make mistakes in LP. You said "I don't ever remember Yuna as a clean LP skater," so I gave you one example, that's all............ :)

Well, let's hope that tech. specialist won't be the one calling DGs and edges at the Olympics..... Yikes. I, too, thought the 3/3 was fine, but I didn't scrutinize it afterwards

Oh you're right. :)

I've not seen that particular LP, although I do remember someone saying that Yuna is capable of a clean LP, although it seems to me that she can't seem to put it together. It's disappointing b/c she might've made more positive / exciting impression on fans if she can skate clean back-to-back.

A clean LP under CoP is not important. How many points you score is all that matters. Just read the rule book if you dont believe me :)

Mao crashed her 3A intto the boards and still won the WC - because she scored the most points

I agree with you Blades. I saw all of men's and women's competitions at SA, and Yuna undoubtedly was really something. She was absolutely better than
most of the men there... Her speed, jumping ability, music interpretation... Everything. Evan was a great skater, but he seriously prerotates his 3A and others, and we all saw his score.

If it is the SAME tech, who first gave Yuna level 1 on her step sequence, the FIRST and ONLY "E" call on her flip, then seriously someone pick up that small Japanese lady and toss her out please.

well, we were talking about how Yuna is not as dominant in her LP that's all.

And about Mao crashing into the boards.... Please, let's not forget that her PCS then was again way higher than her TES. Although I do LOVE Mao, I still cannot accept her PCS sometimes.

Um....no it wasn't. If you actually bothered to check the protocols for her free program at 2008 Worlds instead of making numbers up, Mao had 60.57 PCS and 61.89 TES--I don't know about you, but 60.57 is definitely LOWER than 61.89.

.

OK, thanks. It looked like 45 degrees today - which if I saw right is a little too much.

I would not bet anything on what I can see on these streams.

I thought the jump looked great when I saw it. The slow -mo made it appear to be a ur.

I dont care one way or the other. I love Yuna - I just think if they are calling things so tight there is no rule in CoP that says Yuna can't get dinged either.
