She's like a modern-day Vanessa Riley!
But honestly, she just seems like a super-strict caller.....
I don't know. She was the TC for men's SP today and scores were rather generous.

I'm sorry, but I just can't see why Kim's 3-3 was downgraded. Could someone please explain?
Looks like a super-strict technical caller....like the one at Skate America 2007, I guess.
So did such strict rules apply to every skater? I'm not getting trying to get anywhere with this (the last thing I want is a brawl between uber fans), but I am really confused. I just can't get my head around this.

According to an article I found online, Yuna received +1.6 GOEs for her downgraded 3-3 combo. It's interesting..... if it was a downgrade-worthy, the judges would've given her negative GOEs but seems like the judges and tech. specialist aren't really saying the same thing, I guess.

She is Referee, not TC for men's SP today, thought I don't know the role of Referee... would you tell me?

I think many of the discussions going on here prove that COP is a horrid tool... Yeah; neurotic, nervous wrecks, no one consistent, no stars (only stars that get downgraded by evil tech callers ... wasn't COP supposed to put an end to all that discussion about favoritism?)... If you read this thread you'll see it all.
Anyway; twitter from Ashley: "Note to self: skating cautiously leads to mediocrity."
Dear Ashley, you are far from mediocre, it wasn't your best skate just as it wasn't your worst. Go for it tomorrow!
I hope someone will put her SP at youtube... I'd like to know if she got dinged for more than a two-foot and a wrong edge... It's silly how we can't make sense of figure skating without a long list of unreadable protocols. Sighs.
I meant the technical referee, not a controller. My bad.
I don't think the referee does technical calls.....IIRC, a referee does things like stop the music if something falls on the ice or someone's costume goes awry.
Hmm.. So it seems Yu-Na was benefitted from the rule revised this season that downgraded jumps do not necessarily get negative GOEs. I thought she would be the last person to get such a benefit. Whopping +1.6 GOE for a downgraded jump! Something is not quite right here.
