You mean like this? (No judges though.)

BTW. there are figure skating competitions in Gay Games. And males skaters often do lift and throw each other for fun and show. I have no time to bring them now but there are many such videos.
:rofl:Sorry for interrupting the orderly flow of this thread, but I just watched the first vid, and that was one of the funniest, most entertaining programs I've ever seen! The tongue-in-cheek, reverse-burlesque atmosphere was brilliant (I was on the floor when the lady playing the moustached gent grabbed her hairy-legged partner's bodice ). Thanks for this, SkateFiguring .

But I can see Mathman's point that this type of pairing would severely limit their artistic range .

At the Gay Games there was also a dance team who gender-role switched in a compulsory dance. They were wonderful - someone sent me the link a couple years' back

What a beautiful statement. I think PyeongChang's got it!

I think PyeongChang has gotten it too considering they have been in the running twice before and always turned down. I am on the fence about how i feel about this though...I hope they get it because the people of Korea want it, but I don't really know how Yu-na feels about it. I think she wants it too, but then if they do get it she would feel obligated to skate through 2018 and remain in top shape to be a medal contender...and i don't think she wants that. I think she would rather stop skating competitively. But we'll see. Maybe she will find a love of competing the way Michelle did.

Not the most flattering shot of Katarina, but good to see them both there.

I have to disagree with the first part of your statement, Krislite. I think Witt looks splendid. In fact, I don't think the lady is capable of an unflattering photo. I do agree that it's wonderful to see the pair of them there: two skating legends. It's also great to realize that two skaters are so important to the higher workings of Olympic sports and also to their respective nations' negotiations.

Indeed, Krislite. I guess YuNa still kind of sees herself as an adopted Canadian.

Plus Slutskaya! And oh, the luxury--Browning and Lambiel in one program! I do hope we get to see stuff from the program on YouTube.

no Michelle :(
Show does not seem as exciting as the years past, but Voir and Chan are great names to have attending.

Who is her escort at this Korean Tourism event? Anyone know?

I don't think he's her escort. The guy sitting/standing next to her is So Ji-Sup, a top actor/A-lister in Korea... I believe he's also well-known in other parts of Asia due to the popularity of Korean entertainment and pop culture (also know as "hallyu" or the Korean wave). He is there to accept the same award as Yuna.

They both look fabulous... I love Yuna's makeup here, it really enhances her natural beauty.

Yeah, YuNa must live a life that's pretty much goldfish-bowl every minute of the day when she's in Korea. No wonder she trains in North America. She seems to have developed an amazing poise and grace about her situation. And it's not as if she has many precedents who can show her the way to conduct her life. She's like Princess Diana to the nth degree, and she has to figure it all out herself. She impresses me immensely.

As an admirer, long term observer and who has met Princess Di twice in person, I'd say Yuna is beyond Princess Di. The only similar thing she has to our people's princess is her fame and outpouring of love and admiration to and from her people including the Korean media, whilst the British press aren't always so kind to Princess Diana.

Far from playing the victim, it is great to see this young girl strives to make great positives out her fame and fortune. Young can be vulnerable, capable of make mistakes due to lack of experience - sure... but she's also strong, tough, hardworking and determined ... and really made maximum mileage out her World champion and Olympic gold medals like all great champions do, including dealing with difficulties.

Quite how she kept it all normal is astonishing, and I can't help but think her family in particular her mother has set a solid ground for her to flourish and shape her thoughts and philosophy.
