Typical Yuna bots. Come in and hijack a thread for Mao Asada. Why don't you go back to whatever hole you come from.
I wish there's an ignore button.

Of course you do. It's like the crazies don't like being called crazy. At least I'm being discreet. :rock:
The Yuna bots need an upgrade fast, because it's so easy to spot.

If people are going to get mad about that, how about they get mad about this year's skate Canada where Mirai got pushed off the podium because Joannie, Alissa, and Laura were given humongous PCS scores for their crappy long programs. Or how about last year at US nationals, where Caroline, Rachael, and Alissa all had FS scores within 2 points of each other and Caroline and Rachael landed 7 triples and Alissa only landed 3. Or how about how Kiira Korpi won silver at CoC with her LP with 3 triples? Or Lysacek for that matter, who has been winning everything recently and has a funky 3a and won't even attempt a quad. WINNING NOW ALMOST ALWAYS COMES DOWN TO PCS.

That's the sad truth.:scowl:

Yea, I know right? Actually, it's okay if people think someone should have won other than Mao at 2008 Worlds but I think it's just not right to say the judges were going lenient on her. Cuz that is just not true. They were going lenient on Carolina and other European ladies. Anyways, I should rest my case on this issue :). I am now more worried about Mao's LP, as you have mentioned before. I hope she has a backup plan for that as well.

since no one mentions this, let me ask. How the heck Mao always gets credited for her UR 3F-3L in worlds SPs when it had always been downgraded all season long. It happened in 2009 WC SP, and same goes to 2008 if I remember it correctly.

I will not tag the clip, but it's clear that they are severely under-rotated. I don't think I'm biased on this one.

How about her current layout minus 1 3A and add 1 3R. (TES only goes down by 3.2 points. She can make up for that from spins, spiral having the extra prep time used for the 2nd 3A)

3A
3flip-2loop-2loop
3loop-2loop
2A-2loop
3loop
3flip
3toe

6 clean triples will get her on the podium.

Not if Joannie, Miki, and Yuna all have 6 or 7 clean triples and do a 3lutz or two. Plus, a bunch of those loops are bound to be DGed. If Lepisto or Costner managed to do even 5 triples I think they would overtake Mao with that layout (not deservedly but they probably would). Plus, it is too late for Mao to change her programs. She got credit for her 3a last year at worlds so I don't see what the big deal is.

Whoever said the thing about Mao's 3-3 getting ratified at WC last year, I feel like the scores are WC last year were very high. Maybe the tech caller was more lenient but we definitely saw a lot of very high scores...

certainly not. Miki's 3F-3L was downgraded which was pretty much the same quality.

Yea probably. If anything, Mao has a better chance of getting credit for her 3a in the LP than SP. Does anyone think Mao should try to 3lo/3lo next season? :biggrin:

I don't think Mao is interested in just getting "on" the podium. She always wanted to win the gold medal. I don't think she's going to go too conservative. Let's look at your layout:

3A = 8.2
3flip+2loop+2loop = 8.5
3loop+2loop = 6.5
2A+2loop = 5.0 * 1.1 = 5.5
3loop = 5.0 * 1.1 = 5.5
3flip = 5.5 * 1.1 = 6.05
3toe = 4.0 * 1.1 = 4.4

Total jump base points = 39.15

Typical Yuna setup:

3Lz+3T = 10.0
3F = 5.5
2A+2T+2Lo = 6.3
2A+3T = 7.5 * 1.1 = 8.25
3S = 4.5 * 1.1 = 4.95
3Lz = 6 *1.1 = 6.60
2A = 3.5 * 1.1 = 3.85

Total jump base points = 45.45

I don't know if she would want to start 6.3 points behind just in base points. Not to mention GOE which Yuna gets a lot of. I never seen her do a 3Lo-2Lo. Not that she can't do it but it's a bit hard to change what she's been doing. She might as well stick with her "regular" line up with maybe a single 2A instead of 3A:

3A+2T = 9.5
3A = 8.2 or 2A = 3.5
3F+2Lo = 7.0
3Lo = 5.0 * 1.1 = 5.5
3F+2Lo+2Lo = 8.5 * 1.1 = 9.35
3T = 4.0 *.1.1 = 4.4
2A = 3.5 * 1.1 = 3.85

Base jump points total = 47.80 or 43.10 (if singular 2A replaces 3A)

That will give her a much better shot.

Or if she does something like the Japan national arrangement,

3A = 8.2
2A+2T = 4.8
3F+2Lo = 7.0
3Lo = 5.0 * 1.1 = 5.5
3F+2Lo+2Lo = 8.5 * 1.1 = 9.35
3T = 4.0 *.1.1 = 4.4
2A = 3.5 * 1.1 = 3.85

Base jump points total = 43.10

all I want to say is she's overmarked quite often and at some crucial times. yeah, it's off topic though.

???

okay, well you can say the same thing about Yu-na, or any other skater, the thing is its an oppinion

You're right. She's interested in winning with the most difficult elements and this to her is the 3A. In interviews, she said that she won't leave out the 3A because it's the most difficult jump and the one thing she can show to the judges. Well, Japan won gold in 2006, so anything less than that is not gold enough for them. Remember Ito had to apologize? I wonder if Mao would have to do the same if she failed.

I want somebody who deliver both clean SP&LP and skated light out won.

But reality is, it doesn't matter which lady won. 'THERE WILL BE BLOOD'. :biggrin: I can already imagine all the chat rooms fills with forums about who should, who shouldn't win etc. etc. God figure skating has never been so much better! :laugh:

Just showing the judges a triple Axel will not be enough. It worries me a lot that even her doubles and easy triples are being downgraded. Mao needs a 3/3 and a triple axel, something I hope she realizes next season. So far she has not had that much more sucess rotating her triple axels than her 3/3's.
