"That was good," Chen said. "I skated to Kung Fu Panda, so the character was easy to portray."
Both Lysacek's and Weir's costumes seemed weird to me. Jeremy looked very good on the other hand.

Jeremy Abbott was amazing.
I feel bad for Ryan Bradley, but...
SO cute.

The four foot-five inch Chen is also a hockey player, a gymnast, a full-time fifth grader, and also plays the piano.
"I skate for three hours after school, and I like reading and writing in school."
SO cute.
Re: costumes... ryan's was teh most perfect... jeremy second... and Evan's is a vast improvement (it really shows off his toned body too... which this girl )
Abbotts skating seems a bit slow and labored to me. His jumps were great and it was a clean program but still no spark throughout. He in my opinion needs more colour in the way he executes the choreography.

To me it looks EFFORTLESS, not slow and labored. His limber quality makes him the most pleasing to watch, IMO. The judges agreed, with components soaring into the 8s.

What was with the things on Evans shoulders? I am afraid his hands will get caught in them. Ryans's costume was great! Loved his program too!
It's the nationals before the Olympics, the last man skating after an evening of splats, and with a level of concentration bordering on constipation, he manages to stay upright. Those judges were ready and primed to throw high marks at anything that doesn't make them want to vomit at what US men's figure skating has become. Let's not pretend those marks are remotely objective.
