Miki needs to finish with a great performance and sorry but the olympics was not.
Julia's already confirmed that this is her last season. After Europeans she was talking about how it felt to skate in her last Euros - she first went there in 1995. I hope she'll have a great showing at Worlds.
Miki says in an interview that she may try the third Oly.
But she has talked about retirement many times during the past years. I am not sure if she can remain healthy. BTW, she's been slow throughout the season. What happened to her speed??? I was really hoping that she'd medal. With a clean LP like that, she could have done so if skated with better speed, as Joannie and Mao made more mistakes than Miki if SP and LP are combined.
I hate to say it because I never like it when people are pushed out of things, but Carolina... whew. After two such disastrous performances in one year, or close to it ... to recover psychologically I would think she'd need a huge change in coaching and even environment - as well as therapy. It might make more sense to move on now.
Just my guess. She can retire to take a break and enjoy herself in other things in life and then comeback strong!Others: think Yuna will retire. Why not go out while you're on top?

She just won Euros last month though. That's the thing, she HAS had good competitions and results recently, so it makes sense that she would want to continue and end on a high note because she is capable of it. The same can be said of Tomas, he has been bombing recently but he was 4th at worlds just last year and 2nd at TEB in the fall. They are both so talented that I feel like their issues are psychological - if they can overcome them, they should be competitive for top results again, at least in Europe if not in the world.
Even at Euros, though, she was shaky... And she lost the the Italian championships, for heaven's sake....
I have no idea what to think of Caro. During her LP, it seemed to me like she was approaching some of her jumps with an expression that basically said "Please god let me land this" rather than a look of concentration. I'm not kidding just from the look on her face I thought to myself "she's not going to land it."
I think after this, the judges are through giving her the benefit of the doubt. Spun's right. She needs a serious overhaul if she wants to continue. Of what I don't know, but something.
