Evan's dance Monday was amazing!!! I thought Niecy should have been eliminated though instead of Pamela....

Evan's waltz tonight was beautiful- it made my heart swoon. He looks so handsome and Anna looks beautiful.

What does this mean, Joesitz? What list? Sorry if I'm missing something!
There are always 2 Teams left who have not been accepted for the following week of dancing. Then there is an announcement of which team is definitely not going on any further. I believe the losing team argued about the one who was to go on. And I do not know what the argument was all about.

I had to laugh last night when they paradied a scene from Center Dance with those 3 goofs discussing the dancers. Then they showed a clip of Evan's personality discussing something in his monotone voice and flash backed to three who were sound asleep.

Niecy's time finally came. She should be glad she got this far, although I enjoyed her comments.

I'm surprised Niecy stuck around this long. I think she should have gone before Jake and Pamela.

ranjake, I agree, Evan and Anna do look like Eric and Ariel. Cuties!

Anna and Evan did a Fox Trot (my favorite dance by the way) last night. They did well.

Joe, their first dance was a slow Waltz, not a Foxtrot, they'll do Foxtrot and Paso Doble next week.

I think Evan is doing really well and nailed both dances, the Waltz is super gorgeous and sweet, the futuristic cha cha is so creative and fun to watch. He showed great versatility, endearing personality and steady improvement since week 1.

I'm rooting for Evan to win all the way, but if the judges keep being biased as usual, Nicole/Derek will be very hard to beat.

Assuming there're 20,000,000 votes/week, Evan/Anna need 200,000 more votes than Nicole/Derek to make up for every 1% loss in judge's score. Last week their gap is 6 points, which is extremely hard to catch up by voting.

Anybody knows how popular PCD is? I've never heard of it before. Do they have a huge fan base?

I must have gotten my weeks upset.

I do hope Evan wins, but he doesn't have the personality which I think is a big factor in selecting who stays and who wins.

Also, I believe the Pros also get one of those Ballroom Trophies so Eric is determined to win. He is a very good dancer, and a good choreographer.

I thought the 'dance center' thing was hysterical- and spot on! but I LIKE Evan's personality. He's definitely not Mr. Sparkle, or Niecy! but he's adorkable! His Wall-E impersonation was so funny. I guess I like that he's himself.

I'm not going to set myself up for him winning- I think I'd be too disappointed. Rumor has it that CarrieAnn is not an Evan fan, and will make sure Nicole and Derek win. I really don't know how the votes/judges ratio works- and I can't figure out who would be the top vote getter anyway. Ocho has the NFL. Erin is very likable and now the redemption arc after the Hasselback debacle. Evan? I mean, I love him, but I think Johnny is the popular figure skating guy. I think the PCD were pretty popular, but don't know if Nicole is that popular; however, Derek is a very popular pro. It'll be interesting to see what happens, and as always, I LOVE the freestyle dances!

The Pussycat Dolls are pretty popular. The act was originally intended to represent the empowerment of women and there's a club in California that is well attended. I think Caesar's Palace in Vegas has a Pussycat Dolls casino area and lounge that is popular, too. With Nicole as their lead singer, PCD had several hit songs. Plus, she is the best dancer of the season IMO - however, this can backfire since she's shown the 'least' growth because she was already at a high level and some voters won't vote for her because they feel her dance experience gives her an unfair advantage.

I thought it was funny when Jerry, Eddie and Len fell asleep while Evan was talking. After hearing Johnny Weir commentate during Worlds, I can say Johnny far surpasses Evan in that aspect. BTW, the only reason I am down on Johnny as a skater was because how much he faltered during past seasons due to so-so training habits, but he also 'redeemed' himself as far as work ethic this year, even though he didn't listen to advice to up his levels.

Popularity of the celebrity and pro has a lot of impact to voting. The best dancer does not always win. Some stars are in the final 3 when they shouldn't be, if you only consider dancing.

As far as 'scoring' is considered, it's all about ordinals....

For example, let's assume Nicole, Evan and Erin are the final 3. Typically, the judges scores rank them in that order.

So, judges oridinals would be :
1 Nicole
2 Evan
3 Erin.

The votes make up the 2nd ordinal - unlike skating the judges and voters have equal say (vs short program being worth 1/3 of the total ordinals.). So if fans vote and result in the following ordinals.
1 Erin
2 Evan
3 Nicole

It's a tie because everyone has 4 - not sure how the tie breaker would work.

For Evan to win, voter 's ordinals would have to be
1 Evan
2 Erin
3 Nicole

Evan would have 3 and erin & nicole would be at 5 & 4 each.

Evan surprised me last night and I thought both his dances were good and also very entertaining.
Watching Derek and Nicole's Tango was like seeing two professional dancers.

Hope Evan makes it to the final!

Me too. I hope Evan wins. I just think what he's learned in dance will help him soooooo much in his skating. I have just fallen in love with him since he's been on DWTS.  I am strongly considering changing my avatar.

When he was doing the fox trot, for some reason I thought of Ray Bolger in the Wizard of Oz. Evan looked so happy and it wasn't a phony smile either. I felt happy while he was dancing.

I don't know the results of the other night, but I did read this morning he made the Finals with Erin and Nicole. So we have 1 guy battling it out with 2 gals.

Since we do not want to hurt the gals' feelings, we will find one dropped next time out followed by the other succombing to Evan who will keep the chain of Oly winners in tact. No?

It's always a final 3 competition. This week was the semi-finales with 4. Next week, all 3 teams were perform multiple times for the judges scores. Then the public votes and who ever has the best combined oridinals will win.

People vote for different reasons - best dancer (Nicole), most improved (I would've said Chad, but he's not a choice in the finals. Can't decide between Erin and Evan.), or most popular (I think their fan bases are pretty equal. Tom Bergeron did note that each of the final 4 had gotten the most public votes at least one week during the competition. Another example, Marie Osmond made it to the final 3 based upon her popularity because she wasn't the best nor was she the most improved.) Heck, some people even deliberately vote to keep the worst person in.

Evan's Paso Doble was hot hot hot and really very good. I think Erin will win the thing though as she was most improved. Nicole is so far above everybody else it is ridiculous. I loved her Tango, but I can't root for her as she went to a performing arts high school and has been dancing for years. Come on. She should not have been on the show.
