Loren Galler-Rabinowitz to compete in Miss America pageant

I guess this is old news, but I just found out about it in International Figure Skating magazine.

Loren G-R, former U.S. ice dancer with partner David Mitchell, recently won the Miss Massachusettes beuty contest title. She also won the separate talent section of the contest, for playing the piano. Loren graduated from Harvard last year and plans to attend medical school.

Really, Math? That's an impressive bunch of skills she's got. Finally I have someone to root for in Miss America, which I generally don't follow. Maybe this year I'll pay attention. I always have a soft spot for skaters, as I'm sure many of us do.

Interesting. I'll defintely have to tune in this year. Although as always I wish the contestants were allowed to showcase talents other than those in the performing arts.
