Tha last pairs event has concluded and the 8 teams qualified for the final are (in order of qualification) :

1 Ksenia STOLBOVA / Fedor KLIMOV RUS
2 Wenjing SUI / Cong HAN CHN
3 Xiaoyu YU / Yang JIN CHN
4 Narumi TAKAHASHI / Mervin TRAN JPN
5 Natasha PURICH / Raymond SCHULTZ CAN
6 Anna SILAEVA / Artur MINCHUK RUS
7 Ashley CAIN / Joshua REAGAN USA
8 Taylor STEELE / Robert SCHULTZ

Substitutes:
1 Brittany JONES / Kurtis GASKELL CAN
2 Tatiana DANILOVA / Andrei NOVOSELOV RUS
3 Kylie DUARTE / Colin GRAFTON USA

I think is quite safe at this point to predict the podium. Sui&Han, Stolbova&Klimov and Takahashi&Tran have simply dominated the JGP and are head and shoulders above the rest, not surprisingly since all three teams are the reigning Junior World medallists.

Nice for both Schultz brothers to make the final, and a shame for Jones&Gaskell to barely miss it, since this is their last junior eligible season. I quite like them but hey if SuiHan make the Senior Final there's still hope for them.

Reduced entries for the JGP Final

Don't know exactly where to post this, but according Communication No. 1655 from season 2011-12 only six pairs and ice dance teams will qualify for the JGPF Final. Still eight men og ladies qualify.

I don't see why they limit the dance entries, as they compete at all 7 events. In pairs I can understand as the field is much more limited and they only have 4 JGP events.

i think this is because these days most of the finalists are russians'. look at finalist of this year, 6 of 8 couples are russians'.

Their transition dance lift move had been considered as a failed pair lift, and the actual lift they did later on was considered extra element and got zero point! costed them about 9 points in tes. What's the problem with the technical panel? the pair did exactly the same program as they did in the previous two competitions. No problem before but now they got this surprising call.

Too bad. I had predicted them for the bronze, and now the tech panel intends to ruin it for me! But seriosly, if the program was the exact the same as earlier in the season, then I feel really bad for them.

Perhaps the dance lift also had the required toe entrance?
