I think Piseev should save some money and simply declare this competition the Russian Junior National¨¡¡:biggrin:

But seriously, its amazing how many talented youngsters they have.. MonkoKhaliavin will take this one easily since they are already at senior level, but I love PushkashGuerreiro, they are my sentimental faves (if only she could learn to twizzle), KosiginaMoroshkin looked great on youtube and the ukrainian team of GalyetaShumski are adorable too.

Russian Junior Nationals plus some guests , LOL
Monko/Khaliavin should win this one with ease, but I'd love to see Kosigina/Moroshkin on the podium. She in particular is fabulous! Though I like Bukin a lot as well.

The short dance has just finished. Surprising results. Sinitsina/Zhiganshin are in lead with 55.58 closely followed by M/K in second with 55.50 (about ten points down on their seasons best). S/B are third with P/G in fourth. Not sure what happened to K/M they are a distant sixth. Looks like a clean sweep for Russia

I do not understand the results. For me, M/k and P/G were the best by a mile. Of course it's about levels, but M/K were clean(maybe a little off on the twizzles) and they scored 10 points lower then their season's best! These levels are too random: who knows, with another technical specialist, M/K would be first by a mile, or even out of the final group. Please, if someone who watched the competition could explain to me these scores, I would really appreciate!

M/K must have gotten low levels on a couple of elements. I also thought they would have the lead after I saw them. But they did get the highest PCS by far of the night. We'll have to wait for the protocols...

Monko/Khaliavin got only level 3 and level 1 for their waltz sections when Sinitsina/Zhiganshin got level 4 and level 3 (Stepanova/Bukin got level 4 and level 2), that's the difference

I tried to watch some of the Junior SDs on youtube but they all started to blend together for me. All of the men in the Russian teams seem to look the same- thin, not stable technique, overly dramatic and straight shag haircuts. Whew!

I disagree, missysays. I've only watched Stepanova/Bukin and Sinitsina/Zhingshin, and I found Bukin to be an amazing dancer. He's significantly better than his partner, I hope she catches up to him.

S/Z were good and he is quite handsome.

I was really impressed by the creative use of transitions in Stepanova/Bukin's free dance. Some really cool moves in there and they are guaranteed a medal.

M/K with some errors from him.

Final results:

1 Ksenia MONKO / Kirill KHALIAVIN RUS 136.22 2 1
2 Victoria SINITSINA / Ruslan ZHIGANSHIN RUS 134.62 1 2
3 Alexandra STEPANOVA / Ivan BUKIN RUS 129.94 3 3
4 Ekaterina PUSHKASH / Jonathan GUERREIRO RUS 123.75 4 6
5 Charlotte LICHTMAN / Dean COPELY USA 121.58 5 5

7 Anastasia GALYETA / Alexei SHUMSKI UKR 113.54 7 7
8 Marina ANTIPOVA / Artem KUDASHEV RUS 110.16 8 8

I thought Sinitsina/Zhingashin and Stepanova/Bukin had the performances of the night. S/Z seemed so well trained and improved from last year, and had a nice connection with each other and good technical elements. Next step for them is projecting more and skating bigger. S/B had a great program, he's wonderful and they also skated with a lot of energy.
M/K were lucky to win despite being the most mature looking and powerful team here. They were shaky. I would've given S/Z the win.

I am happy M/K won, despite their mistakes, they are gorgeous skaters. I also liked S/Z better then yesterday. Bukin is an amazing dancer, but his partner is not! I can't really enjoy them because of her posture. She is young,so there is hope

Also how can you explain S/Z coming first in the SD ..they skated the vienne waltz ( part ) totally out of music...
