I love Shawn's SP (which he kept from last year), but I'm disappointed that he still can't land a 3A properly.

Btw, does anyone know who his coach is?

The one with him is Yvan Desjardins (sp?). Yvan is still a part of his team along with Annie Berabe and Sophie Richard.

He fought hard for the 3A. Too bad it's a sore spot for him still. I just hope he has a decent LP. Unlike JT KR PC JR etc, this is Sawyer's last year so there's probably no more "maybe next year's" for him. This is it.
I think that's normal. There seems to be a significant time delay with the stream, plus it cuts out for several seconds at 5-minute intervals (at least for me).

I think you are right. :) I'm just glad I have the stream. I thought I would totally miss the SP altogether!

Oh Daisuke...you freaking rock!

He is 5th :) and with highest TEs. I like to say again that his PSC is too low.

Hehe :D yes he is! I agree with you :( Hehe...Yuzuru is less than a point out of third. As a Hanyu fan I am jumping with joy :D I can't wait for the freeskate

Looking at results, doesn't sit well with me when someone w/ such high TES is placed far from 1st, but watching Daisuke's program, you see why. That's what I call selling a program!

Daisuke's program is very entertaining, and was skated with lots of energy. Even with the hand down I agree with him being in first.

Abbott has a wonderful SP. I like it a lot better than the one he had last season.

I just wish he could land a clean one in competition once in his career.

I just noticed that both of the Junior World Champions have the highest TES in the sp for ladies and men :D

I agree , Daisuke is totally rock!!!!!!!! His skate represent every note in the music but I have to see Jeremy vidoe first before I decide he should be first or not :)

I actually loved A Day in the Life last year, but this is great too. I thought his interpretation was great even if he didn't sell his program quite like Daisuke. I want to know what happened with the spin though. I thought Jeremy should have had higher TES than Daisuke which would have put him a bit closer to him overall too.

Huh, I just noticed that Sawyer's TES is only 0.25 behind Takahashi, and it's 0.31 ahead of Abbott.

TES
Yuzuru Hanyu – JPN 37.85
Florent Amodio – FRA 37.18
Daisuke Takahashi – JPN 36.83
Shawn Sawyer – CAN 36.58
Jeremy Abbott – USA 36.27
Denis Ten – KAZ- 35.67
Jialiang Wu – CHN 35.48
Ross Miner – USA 34.88
Takahito Mura – JPN 33.74
Adrian Schultheiss SWE -30.92
Jeremy Ten – CAN 26.87
Kevin Van Der Perren – BEL 25.38

PCS
Daisuke Takahashi – JPN 41.21
Jeremy Abbott – USA 38.35
Shawn Sawyer – CAN 33.57
Denis Ten – KAZ -33.07
Florent Amodio – FRA 32.83
Yuzuru Hanyu – JPN 31.46
Adrian Schultheiss –SWE 31.32
Ross Miner – USA 29.97
Kevin Van Der Perren – BEL 29.93
Jeremy Ten – CAN 29.61
Takahito Mura – JPN 29.46
Jialiang Wu – CHN – 28.58

Interesting....

Looks like PCS is what determined the order. TES is all over the place with the highest TES to go to the person in fifth (Hanyu) fourth (Amodio) then first (Takahashi).

Kind of random that Adrian got 7th in PCS though he is 10th overall.

That is why surely Abbott has some deduction somewhere else than the jumps, no question about that. Nonetheless, this was a cheerful event for me, i love the top 3 DEARLY!!! Ballroom dancers on the ice, that is the best. they dance actually more than the ice dancers these days.

I guess Takeshi Honda mentioned the zero spin for Jeremy during the NHK broadcast? Can someone here confirm?

Yes, I was right. The protocols for Jeremy & Daisuke are up on a Japanese site. Apparently, Jeremy got a 0 for his change foot combination spin & Dai got an edge call for his 3F in combination. I'll have to re-watch Jeremy's program to see what went wrong.

For those who can read Japanese (or use Babelfish):

Thank you digpffps.
Jeremy's first spin was zero. Don't know why.

Darn, I can't believe I missed the men's! *argh* And now I'm on IN to see if I can watch the replays, but they're not up yet.

Still, I find I'm not liking skating any more, so I don't feel too bummed. I really only came back for Zhenya.

Good luck to all the men. Hopefully Jeremy does not become a headcase and fall apart in the LP, but I don't expect much from him any more. And Congrats to Daisuke, I see another World Championship under his belt. :)

Ah so that explains it. I thought Jeremy's pts were a little too low, but didn't know that he got a 0 on one of his spins. I thought he'd either be placed 2nd but VERY close in pts (virtually the same...like 0.5 or less in difference) or place above Dai.

Loved Dai's program though, despite the mistake.
