11, actually. Sforza and Fioretti of Italy are qualified as well. The Czech team withdrew, which means that there are only 24 total now. So everyone but those last 4 are qualified.

Oops. I stand corrected. Thanks.

CARA, what do you think about ZAHORSKI/MIART?
Their PCS and KOSIGINA/MOROSHKIN's are nearly the same. But I remember watched their skate (FD), they moved so awkwardly...

To tell you the truth, my live streaming kept buffering, so I missed large chunk of their performance. All I can tell you is that I liked their lift and they presented themselves well. Let's face it, they are a stunning couple with his exotic good look and her striking red hair. They are very attractive, and it helps. Beyond that, sorry I would have to see thier performance again.

Anastasia GALYETA / Alexei SHUMSKI UKR. Nicely alighned leg lines, though they could extend a bit more. Twizzles and step sequence not quite in sync.Onto the 8th place. 8 Anastasia GALYETA / Alexei SHUMSKI UKR 48.45 8 Also an interesting rotational lift. Rather than picking her up at her waist, he picked her up at one left. Higher level? Not sure

Go USA!

Charlotte LICHTMAN / Dean COPELY USA
Twizzles sequence to start - good speed and nicely sync'ed - one of the best twizzles of the competition, IMHO. On the other hand, lifts are not very complicated but they really make up with their expressivity. They did well.
Onto the 3rd place!

CARA, again - thank you!
Will you be there for pairs?:

You are quite welcome. Regarding pairs, I'm afraid that I have an appointment, but I'll definitely be there for the Ice dance FD.

Was there something wrong with M/K? One judge gave them a 4 for Interpretation/Timing, and another gave them 3!

I'm waiting for the uploads:  I can't take that much buffering; Protocols are up already:

http://www.isuresults.com/results/wjc2011/wjc2011_JuniorIceDance_SD_Scores.pdf

Monko & Khaliavin got level 4 for everything except the midline step, which got level 2. There are significant variances in the way the GOE was graded on the VW-some judges gave them -1, others +2 in the Viennese waltz segments. I would not be surprised if they had some timing issues, as judges have been inconsistent with grading on the pattern dance this year. A look at their Timing/Interp PCS component confirms this:

Interpretation / Timing 1.00 8.25 4.00 6.75 3.00 7.50 8.00 6.50 8.00 6.25 6.71

It looks like they sacrificed the timing to get the levels in the Viennese and only 2 judges penalized them properly.

Two judges were deeply offended by their timing.

Pushkash & Guerreiro got level 3 & level 4 on the Viennese, level 2 on their twizzles and step sequence and level 4 on the lift. There are no oddities in the PCS, & their PCS is only one point below M&K.

Lichtman & Copley got level 2 & level 3 on the Viennese, level 4 on the twizzles & lift, level 3 on the step. No anomalies in PCS scoring.

Visnova & Csolley of SVK-very surprised to see them this high. Level 2 & 3 on the Viennese, Level 4 on twizzles and lift, level 2 on the step.

It appears that this is a rather tough tech panel.

5th Cannuscio &McManus - level 2 on both Viennese segments, level 4 on twizzles and lift, level 2 on the step.

6th Kosigina & Moroshkin- they got level 4 on twizzles & lift , but only level 1 on the step due to the step out. level 3 on both Viennese segments. They PCS is on a level with Lichtman and Copley's (one point below)

7th Shtork & Rand got level 3 and level 2 on the Viennese segments, level 3 on the twizzles and level 4 on the lift, level 3 on the step. They got hammered in PCS.

8th Orford & Williams. Level 1 and 2 on the Viennese, level 4 on the twizzles and lift, level 2 on the step. Their PCS is above the Slovaks and they should rebound in the FD.

9th Zahorski & Miart. PCS higher than both O&W and Visnova & Csolley. However, level 1 with bad GOE on the twizzles did them in. Level 2 and 3 on the Viennese, Level 2 on the step, level 4 on the lift.

10th Hurtado & Diaz. Level 2 and 3 on the Viennese, level 4 on the twizzles and lift, level 2 on the step. PCS not good.

11th Bonacorsi & Mager. This team continues to skate worse r internationally than they are at US Nationals. PCS 21.98. Level 2 & a fall on the twizzles, level 4 on the lift, level 2 on the step, level 2 and 3 on the Viennese. PCS top 5 at 24.06.

12th A quick look from here on in, Galyeta & Shumski got level 1 on the step, and had a problem with the twizzles level2. I expected them to be higher.

13th Elsener & Roost, another team with timing issues on the Viennese, and low PCS pattern similar to M&K.

14th Oliviera and Hockley level 2 on both VW segments, and the step. Level 4 on lift and twizzles. PCS 18.69

15th Papadakis & Cizeron FRA got no points at all for the twizzles and fell on them

16th Dieck & Zenkner GER had negative GOE on both segments of the VW, and twizzle problems
