LOL that sounds cool and delicious. You should change that promise to the final flight if you really want that cake. Hasn't his jumping been really unstable/shaky at Nice? Kinda worried for him because without his big jumps, he doesn't have the PCS like the veteran skaters that will hold him up. May the skating gods smile upon Yuzu (does dance and offers a pooh bear) :yay::bow::p

Well, that cake is a treat - whether or not I fork money out of my wallet to buy a nice treat for myself tomorrow will depend on Yuzuru :p

To be fair, during the GPF, I heard he had an injury and wasn't able to land jumps either. I was very worried back then, but everything turned out fine. I have faith it will be the same this time, Yuzuru will rise to the challenge. He's a fighter, and he will show the world what he's made of :)

Maybe I should get maybe a Winnie the Pooh tissue box if Yuzuru cracks the top 5 for final standings :p

Just a moment.
God of the skating for Yuzu is Plushenko! Let's try to pray to him? I'll pray together that time.
Please, please lead Yuzu to TOP3. And, please give a chance to eat a delicious cake with a smile to Becki.

The degree of the divine favor is doubtful. But I'll join it.

Guys it seems like we didn't sacrifice enough Pooh Bears to appease the mystic creatures of the skating world :p. Yuzu is all the way back in 7th (darn that single lutz and when he finally got off a quad combo...)and Kozuka is even worse off than him

All his jumps in the SP seemed kinda off

Oh icic....for some reason, I always thought it was a financial issue. So how does Yuzuru get around without a cell phone? Does it rely on his parents and sister?

Yes, he said it's a financial issue.

He doesn't have a cellular phone, being unusually among the high school students of now.
"My parents have spent a lot of money for me to do figure skating and also have me go
to school. I cannot say to them that I want cellular phone, in such a state."

Also I've never heard what clyte said about the reason why he doesn't have a cell phone

Yuzuru's words
http://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/sports/winter/news/20120330-OHT1T00279.htm

【translated】I was tense. It's ordeal of the world championship. When I jumped, there was fret (as for the jump that became 1 round). It became the confidence to have succeeded by a quadruple jump.

Free translation point; "洗礼" of this case is "ordeal" in not being a religious meaning. And "決める" of this case is "success".

I refer to here
http://toramomo.exblog.jp/16334121/

Mai: I have not talked to Habu very much. Thanking you in advance. That reminds me, do you not seem to have a cell-phone?
Yuzuru: Such a topic? Oh, I don't have.
Mai: Do you not want it?
Yuzuru: I want it. Of course. It said since the days of a primary schoolchild always. But, It was forbidden entirely by mother.
Mai: Is your mother stern?
Yuzuru: No...Um my mother is stern, but she keeps the promise properly.

What a kid...I think part of his success as a skater has to come from this incredible attitude he has toward life (with of course ample talent!). I mean at age 17 he has had to endure so much and yet he doesn't even want to burden his parents with a cell phone. A true prince, indeed. I'm in awe

About the information of a page linked to by the blog. There is the point that is lacking in trust. It is common view that it's father to have named him, it's not mother.
The details are follows.

But, of course, it does not have change that he thinks of parents carefully.

So sad....I didn't buy the cake after I heard this news. Yuzuru, please fight back tomorrow, please?

It is a fact that Yuzuru worries about the economic burden on parent. But, by the talk of Mai and him, he talks about the true intention that is suitable for age.

Two opinions are not mistakes. ←sorry! I corrected it.

It's not necessary debate.

I think that his SP was not bad, other than 1lz. His skates became smooth.
I wish for his splendid performance in FP.

me too
fingers crossed, a podium finish is not far from reach :)

8 points is still a lot to catch up though. Javier and him have a little back to back thing going on but Javier's got a 4 point advantage over him similar to GPF? He's never overtaken Dai yet overall. He's never gone against Amodio and Joubert yet has he? Brezina may run out of gas in his FS like he's been doing this whole season, but he may surprise us like at last years worlds.
On another note Hanyu beat Kozuka in PCS, given that Kozuka fell two times...

Hmmmmm I hope for a top 5 finish for Yuzuru then. He is still young, and this is his first worlds. Patrick Chan went to his first worlds as a 17 year old, and placed 9th. The next year he was silver, and he literally 'never' looked back.

However, I still have hope for Yuzuru. Hope he can pull off a top 5 finish :)

I have no doubt Yuzuru is next big superstar, he has it all
he will be No. 2 japanese this season beating Kozuka and hopefully soon will surpass Dai soon
after 2014, it will be his golden reign, imo

Do you mean this article isn't reliable??
Well, then wikipedia is not a reliable source, either :rolleye:

But yeah, it's not a kind of thing that needs to debate here, so let's not talk about this any longer :)

Since Yuzuru is so superstitious, he should like where he is now if he likes number 7. He's at 7th place with a mark of 77.07.

LOL. Hmmmm maybe tomorrow he will be 3rd with a total score of 233.33 (if that will even place him in 3rd...)
