I'm glad Miu Sato and Kako Tomotaki did well. I like both girls, they have great soft knees. Not extremely expressive yet, but I hope they develop into something wonderful in a few years.

Agreed! I really like Miu Sato's 3Lz. Nice flow, her skating is very beautiful. Kako Tomotaki is a nice jumper. She needs more expression, though.

Google translate says "Rina started acting confused." Morning Glory, could you translate that?

Miu Sato really coached by Machiko Yamada? Hard to believe because most of her students have some weird techniques on jumps but Miu has a real Lutz and she doesn't really have odd looking jumps, compare to her other students like Mao, Mai, Murakami, Yukari Nakano, shoma Uno, etc.

Probably has to do with the fact that edge calls have been a lot more common the last couple of years. Whereas Mao and Yukari learned their technique before, the next generation really has to focus on getting the technique right.

That's true but she doesn't have the high leg kick, leg wrap nor toe axel! She jumps like she was coached by someone else.. Yamada is known for not fixing her students bad habits.. That's why I was wondering..

I don't know, it might just be Miu. Because Shoma Uno is very, very young and has just awful technique on his flip/lutz, with a former Caroline Zhang-esque twisting high kick (not to mention a flutz).
