I saw Girl with the Dragon Tattoo yesterday. I really enjoyed it. I thought it stayed true to the books. I saw it with my friend who had not read the books (I have read them), and she enjoyed it as well.

I saw the first movie and thought it was kind of a drag. Maybe this one has more adventure to it?

I never saw the Swedish/English subtitle one, so I don't have it to compare it.

Someone reccommended the Swede version to me so I ordered it on Amazon.com for a song....at somepoint I will see the new version...should be fun to compare them....

I have to be in the right frame of mind to watch a movie with subtitles. So, it might be awhile.
