I knew it, Liza was showing fatigue at her last competition, now she can take some time off and prepare for next season
good on Polina this will be her 3rd and last time competing for a junior worlds podium and Liza already won YOG.

Wow just realized that Maxim Kovtun is not competing here! He had a strong FS at the JGPF and I'm surprised he wasn't named to the team considering he made the JGPF and has a 4t in his programs. Are the other Russian entrants really stronger skaters than him? Kovtun, if he was going, would be a medal contender I feel.

this Kovtun ??

as far as the entry
they have sent, Dimitriev Jr. and Zhan Bush. both are older and aging out for junior worlds next season
not a good choice. imo :disapp: but Kovtun at least is still 16 years old so he has a few more junior seasons left.

I think so too, Kovtun is way better than both Dimitriev and Bush, I wish he could have gone.

Yes that Kovtun. He scored 130+ for his FS at the JGPF and tries a 4t in both programs. His basic skating needs work, sure, but for 16 he is a huge talent and would really be a spoiler for a medal at this event where Jason has no 3a and Denis and Josh can sometimes be inconsistent. IMO he is a stronger skater than Bush and Dimitriev, and has outscored them for the most part this season (unfortunately not at Jr. Nats where it counted). But in any event, at least he will probably get to go next season, and in a way it's good because I'm now less worried for the American men!

It is fortunate the above skaters were not in the preliminaries..I hope it is solved.

It looks like Gold also lost her suitcase, but hopefully it will arrive tonight, have the practices of junior ladies started?

What a disturbance for the competitors that is.
