And just now "They're all out there saying I want to skate my best, the only one I am competing against is myself. BALONEY."

LOL. Cranky Peter is hilarious.....

Final group on the ice. Ugh, Caydee Denney still wearing that dubious hairstyle. At least she's toned down the turquoise eyeshadow....I think.

^ LOL, Toni. Wish I could get Uni-sports - sounds like fun today.

Yeah, I'm also sorry I'm missing it.

And ITA about holding events at high altitude. I much prefer competitions in which everyone doesn't mess up left and right and gasp for air at the end of their routines.

It's no surprise Peter Carruthers ranks as one of my favorite all-time commentators, we're simpatico. ;)

And I'm envious those listening to his commentary, you are blessed.

that was the pre-2010 upward swing E/L today... not as good as they've been  Hopefully they come back swinging next year.

To me they look like they are not connecting well. Not in K&C or on the ice. Skating far away from each other almost not making eye contact.

My wishes are Takahashi/Tran on the podium.

Apparently The Soul of Flamenco is a Chinese soul

toe steppy running

back crossovers
huge throw with a 2foot landing

Jumps all over the lot out of synch

3/2/2/

Twist. She lands hard on his shoulder.

ugly death spiral entrance we have these days with dead stop
exit

spins mostly in synch, not grat

choreographic spiral, she's in a pearl position, he in a more tranditional position

2A good

Now that was one good throw, but an odd hopping entry for COP

lift he's in a spread eagle, she biellmann

pair spin
this has a cool position to start but is dying a bit into a Dmitriev and partners charlotte spin

lift
lots of changes for her

lift again
not as nice lifts as E&L, but great speed into changing positons

No doubt that will lead

I'm not sure whether the twist or one of the throws was a quad.

Could have been, but I'm watching in a tiny window so I can type.

S/H seemed a bit muted to me today, but that was a pretty good skate given the circumstances.

Also it just me, or did Sui almost slip a bit on the first lift? With all the weird lift positions these days, sometimes it's difficult to tell....

GOLD FOR SOCHI, GOLD FOR SOCHI, GOLD FOR SOCHI, BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!!!!  :points: :points:

They didn't even need the quad throw, and yet they did it! And she's such a natural actress, makes me wonder if she takes lessons, or is just a natural like Oksana Baiul.

I love this pair to pieces. Their energy level and athleticism are unmatched and this program and music are gorgeous. I especially like it for giving him a chance to shine. He looks like a Mexican of Indian descent from a distance. Bravo!!!
