Based solely on the descriptions and not having seen video of anyone, there's no question Patrick did deserve his placement today. I'll have to see videos and protocols to determine if he deserved his actual scores in my opinion.

Likes his style so much so that a judge even gave Amodio 9.0 for skating skills? Morozov's choreography cannot be that bewitching, can it? Or can a judge be so unqualified? It makes me wonder if there is politics going on behind the scene. All in all, I think this year's Worlds has been one of the worst in terms of judging.

There's no denying that Brian had a better sp performance than Adam overall, and that tends to lead judges to inflate marks, not to mention the home field advantage. Look at 4CC results and witness the home field advantage that had for some U.S. skaters (sure you must also skate well to receive the benefit of home field).
Brian played well to the audience, but that does not mean he was effectively interpreting the music. And let's be honest, Brian's choreo has absolutely nothing on what Shae Lynn accomplished for Adam in the sp (and what Camerlengo created for Adam in the fp). Sure Adam does not have great speed (but he has performed his sp with greater speed this season). Adam's new programs definitely play to his strengths, and Adam has a lot of skills that Joubert simply does not have and never will. Joubert, God bless him, got himself prepared for this one and he may go out on a high note here -- unless he tries to come back for another two years and bombs in Sochi.
No matter how poorly Adam skates, he is not "disappointing" to me. He may have "disappointed" himself here in the sp. Hopefully, he will get over it and skate his best in the fp. That's what it takes to place well in competition. Chan OTOH appears to get rep points for just showing up. I do give Patrick and Dai their due, they rebounded well from early mistakes. The judges have given many skaters more than their due on the marks. Even Jeremy and Adam when they look at their marks, should get that the judges appreciate their talent, despite the errors. Hope that enables them to shake off the pressure and zone in on what got them here.
ETA: Joubert does not have great speed either and spins are definitely not his strong point, but he has worked hard to improve them and tries mightily to camouflage that weakness.

True. Patrick has more advantages over other sakters in LP. He is able to execute more elements with better quality. I can't wait see the chan-haters cry their heart out tomorrow.

Patrick is a better skater than Michal; I've never questioned that. Dai's 3T got a double << and was downgraded, which really cost him!
What's to wonder? There is always politics going on behind the scenes in the world of figure skating. You don't think skaters are aware of that fact? It is just part of the sport -- and the skaters are taught to do what they can, what is in their control on the ice, and the results are out of their control.
