Not only is that program of Alena's ghastly, but jeez, it would scare small children.

Her sp costume would do the same! Alena's fp is so unrelated to the great music she skates over ... it is not only scary, it is a downright crying shame. I'm with Toller Cranston: figure skating is very "embarrassing" these days

That was the worst Mao skate I've ever seen. Hopefully just a random off day for her.

Mao got decimated in TES. Not too surprising, she bled points by singling/doubling so many jumps. Still, an awful look for one of the greatest skaters ever.

So I see overall Alissa is down in 17th place before Mao's score, and with 5 more scores does that mean she will finish 22nd? Okay, that means Ashley has to finish 6th for two spots, right?

Very upset for Mao. However, she did her best in the circumstances. Obviously the death of her mother has affected her this season. Hope she can come back strong next season.

I think it's a huge accomplishment that Mao was even able to compete the rest of this season after her mother's death. Yes, this was not her best, but I do believe she has it in her. I think she needs two really great programs next year with dynamic music (although not the drudge from her Olympic year) and she will be back!
