I presume as excuse to give them some kind of stipend?

Or perhaps, given the inability (so far) of B&S and I&K and R&T to reach the World podium, perhaps there is a national hankering, as with Plushenko, to have a proven pair of competitors who have both Olympic bronze and World gold on the team, even if it seems probable Max's legs will never be OK enough for him to compete again.

I think that DomShab are listed as reserves so they can continue to get a salary considering that maxim can't skate anymore. Maybe Russian fed feels bad for messing him up?
I doubt that they are going to ever compete again

I've wondered this for some time now, but what success has Zhenya Rukavitsin had as a coach? Perhaps I've not paid as much attention as I should have, but I've never seen his name before until this season...

He hasn't had a lot of success. I only know him because he coaches Ksenia Makarova and Konstantin Menshov.

Plushe said at a fan meeting in Moscow that besides Pasquale he will also work with a Japanese choreographer this season. He didn't give a name (the same way like he didn't give the name of Pasquale at first).:)

Very could be! He is my first suspect too. They make the perfect match with Plush in style and presentation. I think he will make a new EX for Plush when Zhenya is in Tokyo this July. But it's my guess only. Still no names from Plush yet, who is too busy in China/Taipei now. :)

Wow, other than pairs, who is no. 1 man, lady and dance? Russia couldhave a pretty strong team for Sochi and challenge for World Team gold with the US, Japan and Canada though watch out France and Italy too.

With Russia being so weak in Mens i don't think they have much chance.

What about Plushenko?
Anyway, I think that #1 lady and dance will be decided during grand prix.
Although I worry that grand prix selections will affect the decision. After all, Ilinykh and Katsalapov will have a much easier time getting to the GPF (only facing competition from the Shibutanis for that 2nd place spot in each of their competitions) than Bobrova and Soloviev (who have to face Weaver and Poje both times).

Surprise Gerboldt and Engbert are on the reserve ; I thought there was some hope for them. I guess we should never give up on Plushie. He surprised us all at 2012 Euros - I mean wow. I really sense regardless of politics one of the dance teams is ready for a huge move I and K have more natural talent; B and S may have made smet actical decision that will help And R and T are the darkhorses. I wonder if K and S will give up; I hope not they deserve an Olympic medal but I am biased I kind of like them and thin the Germans got their meda as well as Pa nd T and the Zhangs so K and S and V and T deserve a medal. I just don't like the Germans S quared in pairs. I know they try to be innovative; I just don't feel the magic or the it facgtor. Andthey dont have the consistency or tightness of say T and M who despite their lack of chemistry had perffection several times; rarely do you see the Germans skate cleanly. And unlike Chan or Takahashi they don't have the virtuosity in skating skills.

Confirmed. Miyamoto is in the Italian Pinzolo workin with Plush who is in his planned summer camp there. No idea what they are working on, either a new EX or a competitve program.

Thanks let's talk. I thought it was Miyamoto. The choreography he does for Dai is fabulous and I am sure he will do the same for Plushenko.

I can't wait to see Plushenko's programs this season.

Yeah, the info about that was yesterday on a twitter, but than they girl said she wasn't sure. So, we had to wait for the official announcement.
I don't see where Marton can stick up here  : https://twitter.com/PlushenkoNews/status/215874476234117123/photo/1/large
In any case, the fact that he picked up Kenji was quite a surprise. It's the first time when this J-dude is working with a Russian. Somehow, I feel that they will do it well. ;)
