Another very enjoyable video posted by Maia and Alex to their ShibSibs channel!

This one also involves many members of the international cast of THE ICE 2013. Hilariously and clever.
Great line at the end of the description: "No skaters were harmed in the making of this video":rofl:

ONE MORE SANDWICH (Watch in 1080p HD)
Because everyone loves a good sandwich... Especially a hungry, hard-working cast!

We filmed this in Nagoya during this year's THE ICE tour.
The outdoor fight scene was actually shot on location in Kyoto, Japan. Taka is a very fast runner. Unfortunately, not fast enough.

I posted this on the main page but wanted to share here in the Fan Fest for Maia and Alex before it gets completely lost in the middle of all the shouting and shoving over whether Gracie is being hyped more than Ashley :rolleye:

The video from Maia and Alex is just like them. Pure. Fun.

The Shibutani's video feature posted to the NBC Olympic site

Adorable clip of them as little kids, their work with Corky Ballas, and of course their YouTube channel.
Their break dancing at the end gets them big applause from the NBC studio

Another delightful video. This one shows continued playfulness, but also exploresa completely different style. Also shows range of the Shibutani's music knowledge. Classical piano piece that sounds like Schumann or Chopin.

Wonderful editing. The music is almost perfectly synchronized with the movements. Just like a program.
Nice camera work by Maia I am guessing.
Javier's faces are adorable.
Mirai was part of the "crew"

Wishing Alex a speedy and complete recovery so that they can be 100% ready to go at Skate America. I'm sure Maia is supporting him all the way. The two of them together are true partnership and tremendous ambassadors for the sport.

ShibSibs productions strikes again!

This time, a fun-take on the usual "promotional video" for an upcoming event, Skate America. This short and delightful clip includes some out-takes which are charming. They seem to have shared so much genuine fun with Meryl and Charlie over the years.

I hope both teams will be as happy and healthy when they compete there in October

At the Team USA Media Summit going on now, GOOGLE has certainly identified Maia and Alex as stand outs for their exceptional Social Media presence including their YouTube channel. (There was a technical glitch the first time they started where the video cut out so they had to do a restart)

Google Hang Out with Maia, Alex and special guest David Boudia. Such quality athletes and people. Enjoyable to see their interaction. Hopefully this will post to YouTube, but for now, can watch through the TeamUSA link.

Didn't think asking how close they are would make sibs @AlexShibutani & @MaiaShibutani cry. Sorry about that, kids. @USOlympic #MediaSummit

And the thought of their tears is making me cry ....

Awwww.

One of things that makes me a fan is the fact they are there for each other through thick and thin, though every victory and through every struggle. I will never forget how graciously Maia handled things at 4CC when Alex got sick.

They have definitely been there for each other through the thick and thin. Cup of Russia last season was another difficult competition for them. Alex has had so many health issues during the past 2 seasons which seem underappreciated. It has obviously made it difficult for them to train and put out the kind of performances that they have wanted. In her commentary for Worlds, Tanith made it clear that injuries have made it even more difficult for them to handle what was already unprecedented pressure on them coming off of a worlds medal during their first season at only 16 and 19 years of age.

They both show themselves to be genuine and so poised. The question put to them amidst all the Olympics surroundings must have made them exchange one of those knowing sibling looks that family members share when thinking about the same thought tied to emotional moments.

I am a bit hesitant to post anything about the hateful, wrongful and in my opinion potentially libelous comments that were made by Jenny Kirk and David Lease about Maia and Alex as this is their FAN thread and meant to be a home for positive comments and support. BUT it is just too strange to me and very ironic that Kirk and Lease even chose them to be one of their targets. TSL often complains that skaters do not present their true personalities, and in my opinion, Maia and Alex DO in fact share their personalities.

Their written blogs are amongst the most thoughtfully written pieces amongst any of the skaters of this "online" generation. The way they wrote the Washington DC blog made the reader feel like they were with them at the event, from initial nervousness at even being there, to embarrassing finger food moments, to genuine warmth in meeting dignitaries, to the picture taking panic

Their youtube channel is also such a unique way to show their personalities and who they are as people. They seem to have fun sharing their experiences with skaters from all over the world. They seem especially close with some of the skaters they have "grown up with" like Ross and Adam, but seem to get along with just about everybody. I especially enjoy the kinship they seem to have with Meryl and Charlie, who I also admire.

Probably the biggest thing which puzzles me is why they are picking on the Michael Jackson program. They have not even seen it yet and they are already announcing to the world that it is "childish" and "a giant mistake." The music announcement posted to their website is one of the most complete and thoughtfully written pieces by any skater. They thought about the context for the program. They acknowledged the competitive struggles they have had in the recent past. They chose and arranged their music giving consideration to the IJS rules. They got musicians to do a completely original recording! They also did what they always do, and that is go to the best possible source of expertise to help them. The dancers and choreographers they worked with this season worked with Michael Jackson himself.

While we still need to see the programs, I don't see the basis for concluding that they have made a giant mistake. I see giant effort. I wish them well.
