Maia and Alex did a cute promo video for Skate America. Includes Meryl, Charlie and Charlie's laugh.

2013 Hilton Honors Skate America Promo

They are touching on all the genres aren't they ;)

Music Videos. My favorite is "Call Me Maybe"
Reality TV drama "Skates to Plates" with Brian Boitano and Ross Miner
Silent Foreign Film "Wish you were real" with Javier Fernandez
Blooper reels

And now commercials!

Practice video from their Michael Jackson FD (3 clips) can be found here

Thanks for posting the practice clips!

Looks like they LOVE doing their program. It is not easy to do programs to his music and do them really convincingly. Their work with Michael Jackson's own choreographers will hopefully really help make the difference.

Travis Payne and Stacy Walker were the ones who chose and trained the dancers to be on the This Is It tour. This bonus clip from the This Is It movie shows how they were really the ones in charge.

So exciting all of the experts that they are collaborating with this season. They really strive to bring their skating and the sport to a higher level.
I so appreciate that as a fan.

The short dance is going to be a great program for them. They left a lot of points on the table (or didn't get any breaks from the technical panel, depending on your perspective) with the FinnStep. 3 points to H/D, 4 points to C/L, D/W. Fix those and they'll be in very strong shape with this program.

Probably not the start they were hoping for but a very useful one all the same. 4 points to go for in the FinnStep alone.

The MJ free dance is going to be a crowd pleaser this season for sure. So much going on with very demanding dance sequences and technical elements. Looking forward to the program strengthening as the season progresses.

The encouraging thing of this discouragement is that they still got a decent score for their efforts 61+ (30 TES) is alot better than what we've seen from them in the past. They have struggled in the pattern dance previously...scoring in the mid- to high-50s. At Cup of Russia last season, they scored 58+ (and 27 TES).

Also they should be encouraged that they got the highest base value in the FD. They've been losing levels all around last season, so getting those levels early and often is a good thing

I took look forward to further development of the FD as well. I still feel there's a lot of work to do. The middle section, while pretty, seems quite disjointed from the high-energy of the rest of the dance.

Maia and Alex posted another video to their ShibSibs Youtube channel. This one a vlog from Skate America.

VLOG: Skate America 2013 "Tumblr, Kisses and Pokemon!"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9Wc0V-6MV4&feature=youtu.be

Includes fun cameos by their friends from throughout the skating world including Adam Rippon, Jason Brown, Dylan Moscovitch, Kirsten Moores-Tower, Felicia Zhang, Nate Bartholomay, Ondrej Hotarek and Takahiko Kozuka

Their Tumblr was "trending" within days of its launch, which is pretty extraordinary when you think about it. I mean, who outside of the skating world pays attention to figure skaters?

CORKY BALLAS is in the house!

Some skaters seem to bring in ballroom stars for a lesson or two and some publicity. Maia and Alex's work together with Corky has involved some serious boot camps for the past few years. Glad to see Marina letting her teams work with experts. Great to see Maia and Alex continuing to work with their consultants from the dance world throughout the season.

The Shibutanis are great, and their history with Ballas has been just great.

But they are hardly alone. Other skaters -- who are not motivated by publicity either -- also have a history of serious work with ballroom stars.

How to lift a lady
Long before "Dirty Dancing," figure skaters were lifting their partners high above the ice. How to do it with style and confidence is a practiced art.
http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/how-lift-lady (1:48 in length)

The video features the Shibutanis, Davis/White, and Denney/Coughlin.
