Joshua Farris is in the lead with 14 points difference with an elegant program, followed by Japan's Keiji Tanaka and Russia's Adian Pitkeev.

Farris - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-KtdZ6zxIg

Jumps are good. He is very elegant. But the program has no energy. A deserved lead, but I didn't like it so much.

Tanaka - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThooQgEab10

Comparing to Joshua's program, this one is more energetic. But the jumps are weaker and the final spin was bad.

Pitkeev - www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bvB6Ah96wg

Just born in 1998, he is very promising in his JGP debut. He will be more successful next years, when he gets a triple axel. Very nice.

The points seem so low, not a very big competition. Farris will get gold for sure. Hoping to see a more interesting long program.

I saw Tutberidze's assistant coach in the background
so he is also coached by Julia's coach Eteri Tutberidze ?

Yes. The same coach and the same ice at the same time for Adian and Julia.
Julia from 2009, Adian from 2010.

Thanks for the links Mao88.

My gosh, how sad to see so many empty seats at Lake Placid. :disapp:

I see bigger crowds at little girls local soccer matches where I live.........

Of course it is NOT the fault of the IJS/CoP for the minsicule crowds and diminishing interest in skating in N.America.

Easier for closed minds to blame other factors. :disagree:
