While reading the Mao Asada skating to Swan Lake thread, one of the main complaints I read from posters is that Tatiana Tarasova, her choreographer, is considered (by many, including me) to be one of the best choreographers in skating. However, she seems to use the same pieces again and again, usually from Rachmaninoff or Tchaikovsky. I thought I'd list some Russian composers, whose works, I think, could fit well in skating, but are often ignored:

Mily Balakirev: http://youtu.be/YlEh8iZUhb8

Cesar Cui: http://youtu.be/aQE3fshDg1I

Anatoly Liadov: http://youtu.be/_OdW-zcDalo or if you don't like tinkly piano: http://youtu.be/rwBOx7zMKXI

and my favorite composer, Nikolai Myaskovsky: http://youtu.be/D2hdvvyM5SI
