Wagner is coming close to equalling Rachel Flatt, Mirai Nagasu, and Caroline Zhangs's careers now. She is still behind at this point but with each achievement she comes closer. I never thought she would catch up to those women in career achievement.

Sooooo happy for Gao and I'm just happy Adelina made the podium. Adelina has that 'it' factor and it will eventually come together for her.

Wagner is also 5 years older then Sotnikova. How was Wagner doing as a 16 year old? Oh that's right Ashley finished 16th. So don't count out Adelina.

ITA :)

Ashley is doing much better then Flatt did at her peak. Or Mirai for that matter. And she is getting better unlike those two.

Ashley has what Sotnikova hasn't - the nerve to win and the ability to cope with pressure. Gao put up a great challenge, but Ashley just swept her aside. Great performance from Ashley

Ashley has a lot more experience than Sotnikova...As mentioned by many. I think Sotnikova's performance was better than the skates she put up in the GP last year. And she landed a 3lutz/3toe here too. Sotnikova's getting use to her new body and all that goes along with it as well. Its not fair to say Adelina doesn't have the will to win if she didn't have that she wouldn't have tried to add combos. Give Adelina time to grow, by many accounts Sotnikova is a very hard worker.

great to see Wagner really getting it together these past 2 season! youv't got to admire the progress she's made - she used to UR and dbl foot so many jumps, but now she's totally impressive. she's on such a rise!

Interesting point, I think when all is said and done she will have surpassed them all.

Ashley is rock solid. She's been really consistent since last season. It seems that the new star in US ladies skating has finally arrived to bring back the glory it once had when Michelle and Sasha were competing. Christina was also very impressive.

Well both went to an Olympics, many Worlds, have many grand prix medals, and have many top 2 medals from Nationals. That is why I would say she is still behind them at this point. She does have the edge of international wins at the Senior level though. I dont believe Flatt, Nagasu, or Zhang have ever won a senior international event of any kind, only World Juniors for Flatt and Zhang. Wagner has won Four Continents and Skate America now.

Christina was so lovely, too. I think a world team of Wagner and Gao could easily reclaim the 3rd spot, but Gracie Gold could also be a factor.

I didn't either :( Loved her program and her fight- but I don't think the dress did her justice. I think she's beautiful; and I think the dress was too busy and had unflattering cut-outs.

i think that dress in a darker color would work...it's busy, but with the bright color it's bit much.

Those three skaters never won a ISU event like Wagner did. For that matter they haven't won a GP event either.

It utterly annoys me that Adelina, the best skater on paper, can't hold the pressure><I can't calmly watch her skate...It always seem that she'll fall(((I'm almost ready to give up on her..There was NO competition since last year where she had 2 clean skates=(

Growth spurts shouldn't really effect math and counting ability. So now there is a new problem for sotnikova. Learning about the zayak and combo rules.
