I guess this is in honor of Halloween, but thank goodness for YouTube, where I hope I can continue to watch it even after Halloween ends. It's the Geico "happier than a witch in a broom factory" ad. For some reason this makes me giggle whenever I see it. It's such a little gem, with not a moment that's excessive.

Dad likes the Snickers "Horseless Headman" commercial...

Me? I'm loving the new VISA football fan commercial that features my Niners!

I've always liked the "Mikey" Life Cereal commercials, the Aflac ones, and the Staples one in which the dad is singing "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" while shopping for school supplies. His kids look so forlorn, and he's really in their faces ("They're going back ...").

I love the witch in the broom factory !

I also like the VW commercial that just features people laughing - beginning with babies and working up to some guy who's even older than me !..the line is something about ,It's the journey ,not just the destination..but the giggles are so infectious , it always perks me up.

ETA: Found it "It's not the miles, it's how you live them "

I loved the Discover Card commercials they did that featured USA Prime Credit (fake company) and their "customer service" office... the main character was "Peggy"... I still quote a lot of his commercials.

"Thank you for calling USA Prime Credit. My name Peggy."

My favourite GEICO commercial is this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Knjf3ABPc0E

Both because I've struggled my weight and eating habits and because I remember very clearly the "cool" girls acting like that in high school.

That is a wonderful one because it gets the popular girls down perfectly: traveling in a herd, looking down on everyone else. I can still tell you the names of the flock of them from my sleepaway camp. They should live and be well--maybe they've all become Peace Corps workers by now, but they were manicured and supercilious examples of the breed at that point.

Agreed. Really good character building in such a tiny space.

Oh, I also love the HP printer ad with the baby barreling down the road in his/her walker, and also that hypnotically beautiful Winter Olympics ad with the snowboarder drifting through outer space. Let me hunt a moment:

The baby--look at all the details, with the long shots and the smoke trail and so on.

It's been running for about 16 years now, but I still get a chuckle out of the M&M's commercial where they see Santa Claus and the red M&M and Santa pass out at the site of each other.

Thats pretty good, all right. But not uncommon. I love sitting in my seat watching luggage fall off the boarding conveyer....once I landed in Boise in the winter and my suitcase came off the carosel ripped and caked with mud. I took it to claims and they said, "Well, there's the easy way and there's the hard way to handle this. The easy way is you take one of the brand new suitcases we have right here, no questions asked, transfer your belongings, and leave. The Hard way is to fill out this form and wait."
So I looked through my suitcase and my $300 jacket was fine, which was all I cared about, and took a new case. I will never put anything I care about in a suitcase again!

Yes, sad to say, it's not uncommon. These days I sympathize with an acquaintenance who "shops" for travel at the Good Will and then leaves the clothes in his hotel room before the flight home, thus avoiding a suitcase charge.

What an interesting solution! when I travel a short distance, I am generally tempted to wear my least favorite things and carry a book I'm willing to abandon and can easily replace. But your friend's method covers long distance travel that lasts for several days. I'll pass it along!

He particularly likes it for cruises-the luggage comes on board free, and he ditches it before flying back. It's particularly good for him & his wife since they hate to dress up, but feel the need to have some dress up duds on a cruise. In S. Florida, the Good Wills are particularly well stocked, since so many people go there to die & their relatives leave the clothes at Good Will. Or the Habitat for Humanity operation there, which is similar.
