Looking forward to seeing Zijun. The recent vid was rather blurr so I cannot see how much she has grown. Wow.. 5'4"? That's quite some growth.

Yeah her Wikipedia and ISU bio says 163 cm which is 5'4 so yeah Li has been through a major growth spurt but seeing these videos make me very happy to see that she's skating with more speed and power I wish her good luck at 4CCS I'm so nervous for her but I hope she lands on that podium! Go Zijun! :yay:

Updates from her own Weibo,

http://www.weibo.com/p/1003061911237367

she seems to be in fine spirit, looking a little trimmer and taller than last year with the growth spurt (now back on her 30 hours a week training schedule). Theres' a nice picture she took with Korea's Park So Youn who will also compete there (Junjun was 3rd, Soyoun was 4th, Liza was 1st, Adelina was 2nd when they all competed at Youth Olympics) Good luck to her PROPER (2nd chances) season debut tomorrow in Taipei 4CC.

Her Olympic profile

Her coach update is back to include Li Mingzhu, CHN; Li Chengjiang, CHN (ISU, 06 Jan 2014), so hopefully it all falls into place just in time for Sochi.

Apparently she got new pairs of programs this season despite the absence, both by Lori Nichol, let's hope it looks much better than her effort for Kostner. I do like her FS program Sleeping Beauty last year..

Her new SP will be Danzarin by Tango Lorca, choreo. by Lori Nichol
FS Coppélia, by Léo Delibes, choreo. by Lori Nichol (Charming choice, I hope we get some comic mechanical doll part)

Really looking forward to it.

Good luck to Zijun!!! What a horrible fall season it was for her, but health is more important than anything.

Note: it's not actually her season debut -- she competed both the new SP and LP back in 2013 at Cup of China, when she was still injured/ill.

Thanks for pointing out, clearly I am in denial :p ... i will just pretend this is her PROPER season debut, since she was so ill and under performed. I have updated the post.

Congratulations ZiJun on her 2nd place finish in her short, and importantly breaking 60+ and set another personal best. Not bad for a come back kid.

She sent these pictures via her weibo, her small SP trophy as a little Chinese New Year present.

There's still FS to go. If she can get somewhere close to her last WC standard, 127.54, she just might be able to podium!

Happy to see Zijun skating well after all her injury problems. I think her jumps are stronger than ever. All the best in the FS to Zijun.

Congratulations to ZiJun! She is the first Chinese lady to stand on the 4CC podium!
This is not her best performance, but it's good enough for a come back from the nightmarish first half of the season.

I hope she can skate much better in Sochi, but considering what she was going through this season(growth spurt and illness), I'm very impressed and confident she'll make further progress... congrats on the medal!

Consider she was injured, going through growth spurt, had series of illnesses, bombed at Cup of China, pulled out of NHK at last minute, not took part in Chinese Nationals. Still has not been put on the Sochi roster.

Zijun did soooo amazing! So proud of you!!!

This was from Zijun's weibo
http://www.weibo.com/1911237367/AtFdspred#_rnd1390689892123

Her coach LiMingZhu (FS_Coachili) left her really nice public words of encouragement on her weibo that says:
为你骄傲!你已经做到现在最好的你!还会更好期待奥运! (1月25日 19:13)

That basically translate as
So proud of you! Now you have done your very best! Look forward to even better at the Olympics.

I will consider this a SOLID confirmation ZiJun is officially selected in the Chinese Squad for the Olympics from the national coach herself. Goooo..... Good luck in Sochi!! JunJun!!

So Zijun finally arrived in Sochi on Monday 10th Feb, missed out on the opening ceremony

Had an 8 hours stop over at Moscow waiting for transfer (she was so bored, she ends up counted 260 grains of rice before she consumes them :rolleye:, someone please get her a book.)

Here's her high fives with the freaky Sochi bear (2 directions beady eyes always unsettle me) when she arrived.

A top 10 finish will be considered a great success I reckon. Good luck to her!
