Overall, I liked Zijun Li's performance the best in the LP at 4CC's because I thought she had beautiful jumps (smooth, nice height for her size, with good distance and pleasing air position) and I also liked her Biellmann spiral transition into a nice low extended leg sit spin into an I spin, though the I spin was just a bit off center. My favorite move was the layback into the one handed Biellmann spin at the end. Her program also had my favorite music (Moon River and Rach 2) and costume. When I watch her here I think of how even more impressive it would be if she could extend and hold her movements a bit longer and skate with a little sharper edge and speed. I hope she can get these qualities because she is really an aesthetically pleasing skater to watch in this performance, as she was in the Worlds 2013 LP, and even shows some true depth of emotion.

Zijun has SUCH delicate and pretty skating. Unfortunately, I don't think she has (or ever will have) the mental goods to be a serious podium contender. GET YOURSELF TOGETHER GIRL.

Overall, Zijun was the most enjoyable ladies skater for me at 4CC. And she went for everything in the LP. I think that some mental toughness; she just needs to work on speed/stamina.

She should have medalled at 4CC, I enjoyed her the most, must have been great redemption for her after some shaky competitions, when they put the camera on her in the K&C she had to wipe away a tear, I hope to see more improvements from her, from the fancam of her LP her speed has really improved, hoping for good things for her at Worlds.

Her back reminds me of you know who : Zijun's shoulder(upper body) has grown a little wider, not as hunched. all indicates good trend.
The layback-spin in the end from this fancam angle is the most gorgeous lay-back spin from Zijun. Please GIF.
From everyone currently competing, I think Zijun's layback is the best.

I wish her PCS will be higher at WC. :drama:
It will be, if she skates clean. 4CC has rebuilt her rep somewhat, I would hope.

Zijun was my favorite lady to watch at 4CC's. I'd love so much to see her do well at WC's and I'd bet that the judges are having kharmaic trauma for keeping her off of the podium at 4CC's. Ya know, sometimes we are lucky enough to see a skater skate a program that just makes sense and fits who they are. I'm getting that feeling from her this season. I just love Zijun and hope the best for her :)

Zijun's performance in the LP at 4CC's has stuck with me and I definitely liked her beautiful and emotional free skate the best at 4CC's, and I thought she was the best overall. I really loved her Biellman spiral into a double axel in the short and her one hand Biellmann in both the short and long. I hope she can just skate with all her heart and go clean with the elements at Worlds, so people will remember her. Here are the best copies of her performances I could find:

These two cracks me up... I mean how do they communicate?

Now I know there was no accident for their gala choices.

(I didn't notice before, but both of them got slight dimples... kind of remind me of you know who :p)

May both of your dreams step forward in the right direction coming March!!!!

Zijun has traditionally NEVER benefited from home event (Just see her appalling Cup of China scores), but I really hope she delivers at such crucial time so at least the judges can acknowledge her improvement, and remind them why she was only the 2nd person who received a standing ovation at world championship 2 years ago in the ladies event.

Thanks for sharing the videos, though some of those were previously posted in this thread and elsewhere on the forum.

I'd be willing to wager that those Eurosport videos originated from my YouTube channel, where I uploaded them days prior to that particular user. Also, I have suspected that user of re-uploading many of the videos I've posted since U.S Nationals in January. Interesting -- to their credit, it looks like much of the U.S. Nationals stuff they uploaded might have been captured from my live-stream of NBC, maybe? If so, then damn, my live-stream actually did look pretty nice! (Not nearly as nice as the original 1080p HD recordings, in any case.) Straight rips of the Eurosport videos are a bit much, though.

Since I didn't watermark any of those videos, it's difficult to prove anything 100%... but too many coincidences. But, really, two people watching & recording the same NBC affiliate (Local 4 Detroit)? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDz4i9LndgA#t=11 (0:11 second mark). This would all be quite the coincidence! ;)

I really appreciate your efforts in posting videos and providing live streams, sabinfire. Thank you very much for this. Sorry if someone did rips of your videos and posted them as their own. I hope you understand I just wanted to put the best links I could find in one place for my benefit and for everyone else's, since I liked Zijun's performances the best in 4CC's.

It's fine, I knew your intentions in sharing videos from YouTube. My comments were just a gut reaction from seeing two YouTube users in the same post that I have suspected of re-uploading my videos for some time now. Actually, I am curious if one of those users just strolls around YouTube (and other places on the internet) to download video files they find from other people and re-uploads them to their own YouTube channel.

I do feel sorry for her. She was unable to medal at CoC and even when she does two better skates in Four Continents she goes into 5th place. I'm also wanting a standing ovation for her like 2013 Worlds.

BTW I thought it was three people who received standing ovations at that event (for the free skate): Zijun Li, Kaetlyn Osmond and Yuna Kim.

Thanks for the NBC clip Sabinfire. As usual, it is always 'refreshing' to hear what Tara has to say. I am almost certain to disagree with her 80% of the time in particular on her view on artistry and choice of expressions.

It seems she always expect Jim Carrey on ice to consider as good 'expression', it is entirely inappropriate for moon river. Not everyone need to be an Ashley Wagner, especially on a timeless Audrey Hepburn program. There maybe plenty of areas which Zijun can improve on, but this program is great choice for her. She need to avoid being typecasted however... try new things. Z

Zijun has above average power, strength, speed, flow, grace in her skating, it can be seen in her self choreographed 'I dream a dream' program, she just need better vehicle to show that aspect of her skating. She also has charm and star quality. She need to work on her stamina and polish, but it is getting there and improvement from last year which is great to see. I thought her mark were held down at this competition, as the judges are leaving room for Gracie.
