Does anybody know how they became friends? They always look like they were friends for a long time. At 4CC Zijun and So Youn were dancing together when the gala skaters were being announced. Also how do they communicate with each other? Do they just use english?

They became friends in the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2012. You know, skaters in YOG had plenty of time to play together. Before they meet each other, Soyoun had seen Zijun's skating in WJC2011 in Korea and then said that she like Zijun’s jump in a interview.
I think they communicate with each other in English. But sometimes they just chated with their respective mother tongue and laugh togehter(just like this http://www.meipai.com/media/143306984, http://my.tv.sohu.com/us/246323491/78408828.shtml), tough actually they know little of each other's language.

By the way did anyone watch the latest TSL recap of ladies with liz Manley? Some nice comments on Zijun, with probably the highest compliment she can possibly have at 33m20sec. I bet Zijun will be very happy to hear about it.

it was a GREAT one.
