german entries for euro 2013

pairs: Savchenko/Szolkowy
Vartmann/ van Cleave (only 2nd in championships, because of aarons 6 week injury)
Hausch/Wende (if they are fit - daniel has a back injury)
(Prölß/Blommaert - national champions - cannot compete, because Annabelle iss not 15 yet)

dance: Zhiganshina/Gazsi (national champions)
Kolbe/Caruso

women: Natalie Weinzierl: only 2nd in championships, but the german fed nominates her, not sarah hecken - national champion - because Weinzierl did better in pre-competitions)
if Weinzierl does not end in the top 10, hecken maybe goes to worlds in london.

men: Peter Liebers (national champion)

tell me the other entries for the euros......:rolleye:

1) Germany has chosen Weinzierl instead of Hecken!
2) I'm happy that Korobeneykova is the first sobstitute instead of Leonova!
3) Kovtun is officialy in the Russian team and Ganchinski is the first sobstitute!

I thought the substitutes were alphabetical. Because when I saw Gachinski over Menshov I wondered.

No, that's incorrect. ISU follows the Alphabet in everything. The substitutes were annouonced on the official RusFed site right after RN:

In Pairs:
Substitute #1. Stolbova/Klimov
Substitute #2. Antipova/Maisuradze

In Ice Dancing:
Substitute #1. Monko/Khalyavin
Substitute #2. Sinitsyna/Zhiganshin

In Men:
Substitute #1. Menshov
Substitute #2. Gachinski

In Ladies:
Substitute #1. Leonova
Substitute #2. Makarova

So, sorry, the first sobstitute in Ladies is Korobeneykova or Leonova?

Leonova - what?
Her skating at Nationals (and before, in fact in all competitions after Worlds-2012) was not good.
She was not happy and cried after Nationals (unlike Makarova, who did not look disturbed).

No matter, they are in alphabetic order.
For ISU it makes no difference. Federation can substitute any of Main by any of Substitute.

In fact, Leonova is a first substitute - her results are better than Korobeynikova's and Makarova's.

Yes, this is what I think, too: sending her to Euros would be really risky for the Russian Federation, especially considering that she placed ahead of Makarova just because of her absurdly high PCS, even for a National competition (64 for a program with two falls plus two other major mistakes and poor choreography and ss... )!

If gosviani doesn't have her jumps - in fact if any of the Russians don't have there jumps -there pcs will be worse than either leonOvas or Makarovas!! If tuktamisheva gets 53 than gosviani at best will ge 43

This is true, but at least Liza or Gosviani (and Sotnikova, even with a bit more mistakes) ARE actually landing their jumps, when Leonova is not

But you need good pcs. Liza is not getting anywhere with 53 pcs and the top contenders will all get 65 to 70 making her jumps meaningless. Leonova almost reached 60 in pcs in 2012 worlds. Mao can do two triples in a free skate and win an event! Pcs is the most important thing in ladies skating. Then steps than spins than jumps. Russia is going to send all these people who can jump sometimes and none of them will be top 5- hopefully top 10. Probably top 10 but the pcs is so bad.
