CoSp at level 1?! Three lifts deductions? However, three judges gave them 10 for everything!

So the word on the street is the dance looked good. So the tech panel must've seen something those people didn't. Three lift deductions seem a bit extreme....

Sorry if I am confusing everyone -- but I am really confused myself.

I have hit "Refresh" to be sure I have the latest version of the PDF.

What I'm seeing for V/M's protocol on page 1:

3 CoSp1 2.00 1.00 2 2 2 2 2 3 2 2 - - - - 3.00

The GOE for the spin is 1.00. But the levels are mostly 2s and one 3.

Among levels for other elements, I still do not see any 4s.

The other numbers is what each judge gave in GOE individually.

CoSp1 = Combination Spin, level 1.

v/m's score has changed! is now 108.19

Ah, yes, it's changed on the live results -- but protocals haven't changed yet. What is with all the scoring errors at this competitions?!

Oh I bet, the rules say you only can deduct -1 point for the combo lift......anyway that seems to be what happened.

ETA: I was right. They took out one of the lift deductions. Everything else is the same.

Ohhhhh, thanks, Mrs. P!

I am going to go back and delete all my previous posts.

I don't mind embarrassing myself with my ignorance -- but I want to minimize the chances that it will be contagious.

LOL, just read that at the medal ceremony, the 3rd-place ice dancers were given the gold medals instead of bronze by mistake.

where did you read that?

I should have added above that the medal glitch seems to have been rectified quickly. Not clear whether it involved one or both members of the bronze couple:

Dan McIsaac ‏@IcePylon
#cfsc13 Awesome! Third place dance finisher got to wear the gold medal for a few seconds!

Dear rep whom gave the Bronze finishers the Gold medals at the podium ceremony, you are treading on thin ice... #CFSC13

It sounds like the tech panel were out partying last night.

What were the deductions for?
The two I'm seeing are for extended lifts "long Lift"
What was the other one that they deleted for, if anyone knows?

Given it's Nationals the low levels definitely must have been deserved. ;)

I mean we're talking about the panel who gave Lv4s left right and centre in the SD even though very few top teams managed to achieve that so far this season. :)

So I guess Orford/Williams will go to 4CC now?

I don't know--what's Skate Canada's policy, especially about 3rd spots?
And do V&M want to go to 4CC's?
That would be the 2 questions for me

This panel gave P&G all level 4 except for two level 3 steps,
Orford & Williams and Ralph & Hill all level 4 except level 2 & 3 steps

Paul & Islam lost a level on the spin as well as the fall & the level 1 step resulting. Also level 3 on the other step.

That's all rather generous, but not crazy.

Do you suppose someone warned the tech panel they were a little too kind yesterday?

In the day, it was very common for Canadian & American champions to skip 4cc's, especially if it was a long expensive trip (like to Japan this year) particularly as it is so close to both Nationals.

The teams most apt to skip it were the teams who felt most secure in their positions.

With all this ranking stuff, top teams have been going more often

I really don't know what to expect out of 4CC's this year.
