Well I though Cannuscio/McManus improved greatly from Skate America. And a great score with 56+ that will help them improving on last year's ranking.

Hubbell/Donahue were great! I though they might have missed a point or two, but lovely.

35.35 + 32.40 = 67.75 Huge score!

Lynn and Logan were really awesome! Much improved from Skate America...not sure how they will score.

ETA: 33.44 + 31.25 =64.69 A solid score.

We only had two teams last year hit 60+ (really 70+) but this year we already have two teams doing so!

Tanith: "I have no problem going on the record and saying this is the best short dance in the World."

As usual Meryl and Charlie delivers.

39.64+39.38 = 79.02 Great!

The "gap" is negligible (and the judges are different), but for anyone curious:

Jo-Ann Barnas ‏@JoAnnBarnas
Davis/White's short dance score (79.02), slightly lower than Virtue/Moir's at Can nats (79.04). Impressive start for 4x U.S. champs

I like the reworking of the Shibs SD. The slower section works much better as a waltz. I agree with Tanith that they need to let go a bit more, but that will come with time.

36.64+ 33.99 = 69.63. Interesting....not as huge a gap from 3rd as last year, but that is to be expected. Hubbell/Donahue has improved greatly. This will be a competition!

Will be interesting how Chock and Bates will score.

Yes. Next year will also be VERY interesting. IMO it's going to be a 3, possibly 4 way race for 2 Sochi spots (DW obviously will get one).

Why did the Shibutanis get a deduction??

Oh I missed the -1 deduction from the Shibs. So they would have been at 70+ if not for that. The lift did look a little long to me.

Chock and Bates did quite well. Very smooth. But while they had attack/energy, I agree with Tanith that they lack strength. It will be interesting how they will score compared to the Shibs + H/D...

37.87 + 32.93 = 70.80. And interesting, they pass the Shibs. Huge TES score.

ETA: fromtheboards, who is at the event, tweeted that C/B had all all level 4 elements while the Shibs had one level 3 element.
