Chuckm's negativity is more toward the over-the-top hype than it is to the skater. I've been saying Osmond would defeat Lacoste at Nationals since last January. She is a good skater with a bright future. Leave it at that.

What I'm more interested to see is how Osmond fares against Asada, Suzuki (again), and Gold at 4CC.

In reality, the hype was mostly created indirectly by the nay-sayers who greatly outnumbered the few over-the-top Osmond fans. There will always be the odd fan who is over-the-top for any given skater(s). But like feeding the trolls, arguing is what keeps the threads alive. Which in turn, indirectly generates the hype. It is best just to ignore these people. Your bashing of Osmond at every opportunity just invites additional debates from Osmond fans who feel obligated to defend her, which also generates additional hype. You are actually being self defeating. Not to mention, making yourself appear as a hater.

There is a difference between calm discussion and recognizable repetative bashing (thinly disguised as discussion), or in some cases sarcastic bashing. But alas, that seems to be lost on some people.

This.

Although, even 4CC can't determine how well skaters would compete against each other internationally. Euros indicated that Kostner is not a shoe-in for the World podium. And suggested that Adelina is a possible contender for the World podium. But that's just one competition. At competitions like NHK and Euros, Asada/Kostner committed several errors which would not give them a win at Worlds (frankly, it's appalling that such poor performances were given boosted PCS, guaranteeing a win).

If this season has suggested anything it's that whoever gets it together at Worlds will win or be on the podium, because everyone's been having inconsistencies, and winners have relied on other skaters making errors and putative PCS boosts rather than winning hands-down.

I wonder how people will react if Osmond or Gold wins or defeats Asada or Suzuki at 4CC. It will primarily depend on technical superiority, though. But it's not like this is a sport or anything. :sarcasm:

didn't watch the u.s nationals, if gracie skated as good as everyone states (fighted for it-but without pressure) kaetlyn will be among the top along with adelina, elizaveta, gracie, as the next young stars. along with other russian youngster.

it is possible that both gracie and kaetlyn can defeat mao, but both have to be consistant in skating. in other words (both have to skate like they did at nationals)
especially gracie. adelina, elizaveta kinda proved worth at euros both by coming in 1st in long & short/ skating well in competition outside of their own nationals.
i am waiting for videos to come out to reserve final call on it.-not taking everyones word for it since fans and media are biased at who they want and push.
read between lines in articles the u.s. picks who they want to win -=-not necessarilty who skates for it under the new scoring system.

Gold changed around her jump passes in the LP back to a more comfortable set of jumps between RC and Nationals and it paid off....

There is a direct correlation between the season's best scores and the date of the competition. With the exception of Mao's NHK SP, all of the top scores are from Europeans or the GPF.

I don't want to rush things, but I think if Adelina and Tukt are clean, they could rival other ladies scores at Worlds - heck! they could medal

No.
Asada and Suzuki - NHK Trophy (Suzuki deserved it - very clean and nice skating, better than at GPF).
Kostner, Sotnikova Tuktamysheva - yes, Euro. First ISU competition for Kostner and much better skating than at GP for other two.
Wagner - TEB, not GPF (at GPF were falls).
Korpi - Rostelecom Cup, not GPF (really better than at GPF skating).
Gao - GP USA, not GPF.
Marchei - Euro, her best in the life skating.

So we see (these of Top 15, who had GPF and/or Euro) - season best is from Event where their skating was best. Except Mao.

Assuming everyone skated clean programs with no errors:

Adelina: She has the lines, extension, excellent presentation, great basics, great flow, great speed, huge jumps, difficult combinations, difficult spins, good edges, difficult footwork, and she's able to project and perform...she's definitely a total package skater. The only thing missing from Adelina's skating is consistency but her performances at Europeans are hopefully a sign of what's to come. If everyone is clean she wins, hands down.

Kaetlyn: She has great basics, wonderful transitions, great flow, nice jumps, good combinations, good spins, and amazing connection to her music, choreography and the audience. She's another total package skater. The main thing against Kaetlyn right now is time. She needs time to develop her presentation a bit more but she's a lot farther along than most her age.

Elizaveta: She has wonderful technique, great air position, good basics, difficult combinations, good footwork, good speed, decent consistency and a lot of energy when she performs. Liza gets into her music and the character and is also good at projecting to the judges and audience and always gives that extra umph! to her choreography. Liza's spins are the weakest out of this group and her ice coverage still needs some work. Next to Adelina and Kaetlyn her skating doesn't leave as big of an impression which is often reflected in her PCS.

Gracie: She has good basics, nice speed, huge jumps, difficult combinations, nice transitions, decent edging, good spins and a fresh look about her. Gracie's presentation has improved but she's very stiff-looking and has a case of the airplane arms. Her biggest weakness is her lack of connection to the music or choreography. She is able to hit accents on the music but there's zero connection to what she's doing which makes her slightly boring to watch.
