watching Radio's manner in that interview, and how she blow kisses to the camera in general. she has some sorta old-fashioned, black-and-white-movie hollywood bombshell charm going on. although she is just a tiny girl now. No wonder Kurt said that "go to hollywood" comment

Yeah, they definitely were a little off with the facts...she wasn't the GPF champion last year, and she only won ONE Junior GPF.
Does anyone know who the lady commentator is? I recognized Kurt Browning's voice, but I wasn't sure who the other lady was (not PJ Kwong)...
Kurt and this lady commentator are fans of Lena; Johnny and Tara on NBC are fans, and the British Eurosport guys too...I feel like Lena is actually MORE popular outside of Russia!

Radio is still a bit jerky at the moment, she is still growing and needs time to get used to her figure. but following her performance this season, she is refining the nuances with her own feel of music, every outing, music IN is getting a little bit better and precise. I am very impressed that she did not drop her performance at all after her fall in GPF sp. These precious character of Radio will set herself apart in the future.

I gotta say, if Lena is already this pretty, once she fills out she is going to be the stunning
I only watched the FS with his commentary.
I remember him praising Lena for the choice of the music, her ability to connect with the audience(IIRC, he compared her to Wagner in this regard), jumps and the personality of hers.
As for her popularity in Russia...well, it takes time for a fandom to grow, and this is the first season she's in the spotlight.

Thanks for the info, yay! All I could tell from browsing Russian forums (via GoogleTranslate) was that some people thought he talked too much!
I do hope Lena can become a big star at home too--as someone already mentioned, she seems quite prepared to be in the spotlight!

The lady commentator is Carol Lane. She coaches, among other skaters, Gilles and Poirier.

I couldn't agree with you more. I've watched her performance from Bordeaux quite a few times now (it's my favourite performance of her free), and at first I thought she was saying thank you in Russian, and then I realised it was in French; I was so impressed.
I love how she used a French song - I read in an interview from a few years ago that the two places she wanted to visit most were Japan and France, so I guess she wanted to make her visit special.

Besides the fact that Lena always makes an effort to thank her foreign fans in their native language, I really, really love how she's so warm and affectionate toward her fellow competitors. I love how she always throws her arms wide open before she hugs the other medalists.

Anyway, I think it's super cute how Elena Ilinykh dotes on little Lena. Sure, 'big' Lena seems to be close with all the girls, but I think she has a special place in her heart for her "favorite princess" and "favorite little star" who shares her name.
