Having seen Team GB's summer athletes have their time in the sun at the London 2012 Olympics, figure skater Jenna McCorkell insists it is time the winter ones followed in their footsteps.

There is no doubt that Jenna's skating has improved immensely since Simon became her coach. Like, her results say it all. Only a few years ago, Jenna was fighting for top-10 positions in international competitions. Now she is winning on the international

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but this is all just un true. Jenna Had her worst ever showing at euros, in 11 appearances.
5 years ago she won the sp TES, and finished 8th overall, this year she was fortunate to make the free.
Her jumps have regressed, her spins are verging on pathetic and her Choreography, well it's non existent.
She had great promise in 2003 with a super loop, 3sal/3sal combo and a huge lutz. Now she has no loop, no salchow and the lutz is MIA. She's verging on becoming Fumie Suguri. :/
Bout ye, CaroLiza_fan.
OK, so I had to look up Norn Iron Speak to find that one.
Go, Jenna!
I think what CaroLiza_fan was refering to was the fact that she won the Ondrej Nepala trophy and ice challenge this season, at ice challenge she skated the best I have ever seen her she landed a huge lutz, two flips and a sal aswell as a toe, she underperformed at euros last year aswell only to equal her best showing in worlds later, I wouldnt lump her in with Fumie just yet...

LOVE IT!!! Thanks for making the effort.
Don't know if you ever noticed it, but when Kevin is speaking English, you can hear a Northern Ireland accent in it! So, living with Jenna is rubbing off on him.
Although Fumie will never get back on the Japanese team with all the great younger Japanese skaters around, she is still not a bad skater. I was mesmerised by her at the New Year gala in Oberstdorf! OK, so she is not the skater she was 10 years ago but, as I said for Jenna, it is not realistic doing comparisons over such a long time frame.
Good luck Jenna (and Fumie!) Do your best and don't listen to the detractors!

I don't care if she's one of the top skaters or not; I really like her "Where Have All The Flowers Gone" program. She also seems like a really nice person, and she and Kevin are a cute couple. go Jenna!
What happened (to fs) in Britain after the great successes of Torvill and Dean and John Curry?
IF she were in Japan, Russia, US heck even Canada she would be but a footnote.
You have made it clear how you feel three times now. She earned her spot. This post is not about other skaters.
Thanks. I am glad you got it; you've made our point clear too LOL. But this post is really about her and comparing her to others. As are most posts. Anyways, I hope she will develop some interesting programs at the very least. I fully expect we will see her at worlds and olympics though maybe some one will upset her and knock her off. As for earning her spot well it is all open to
interpretation.
