This. The Classic will still be more than a month before the first GP event, so I don't expect to see many (if any) perfectly polished programs.
Yes. I remember Ice Challenge-2012(Hague, 08-11 Mar), where Kostner's program was not so polished.
At Worlds (for less than a month, 26 Mar - 01 Apr), her skating was much better.

"Still sorting out entries," said @USFigureSkating in an impromptu Twitter conversation today.

[BTW, today, Aug 2, is the deadline for final entries.]

And if anyone is planning to attend in person, FYI, they said also:
- "Everything from Wed. on will be open for ticket holders. Day & all event passes will be available at the door."
- Passes will not be available to purchase in advance. "Everything will be available at the door. We don't expect you to have any issues getting them onsite though!"

That's right about the tickets. There is usually a table inside the front door. No problem with tickets or access to the building. For those planning on coming - you go upstairs to get to the seats. There is an elevator for those who have problems with steps. Also there is access to both rinks from the seats. You just go through the door. You can actually see into both rinks by looking through the windows. The main rink has many more seats than the practice rink.

Pechalat/Bourzat will compete in SLC.
"Bourzat: Our first competition will be in Salt Lake City in September (the U.S. International Figure Skating Classic), because this is not overseas."

It was a tough choice between this event and SA but with Pechalat & Bourzat and Weaver & Poje added to Ice Dance, along with D/W and the Shibs, I made the decision to go to SLC next month.

Great line up at both events! That is why I am going to attend both. :)

There was an on site meeting recently. The full competitors list along with ticket information is expected the early part of this coming week. The organizers are very excited about the international competitors coming. The organizing committee is also working hard to get some good publicity for the competition this year. Hopefully there will be a good crowd this year.

It seems like it is taking forever to get the full list of competitors up. Has anyone heard anything about the rest of the pairs or whether there are any entries from the Phillippines?

Thx, IndependentObserver.

ETA, and here is the corresponding USFS press release:
Ticket, schedule information announced for 2013 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic
(8/27/13)
http://usfigureskating.org/Story.asp?id=49443&type=media

The event will feature the following disciplines:
~ Senior Ladies - singles (max. of entries 18)
~ Senior Men - singles (max. of entries 18)
~ Senior Pairs (max. of 8 entered teams)
~ Senior Ice Dance (max. of 10 entered teams)

Interesting that Dance will have 15 couples -- 50% more than the previously stated maximum of 10. :)
