Have you tried using a different browser from your normal choice? Perhaps something in your browser settings are interfering, and a change to another one would work for you?

For instance, it works for me on Internet Explorer and AOL browser, but so far, I haven't been able to get it going on Firefox (although others have). This is counter-intuitive to me, to have IE and AOL work when FF does not, but I'm sure its the fault of my FF settings.

Also sometimes, (like right now), it just doesn't work at all.

The new IN is horrible. When i try to watch any archived video it says i need to subscribe to watch the videos. I already have a IN subscription otherwise how the hell could i have watched the US Senior B event last week live on IN? Anyone else have this problem? Please tell me i don't need to shell out another 40 bucks just to watch the old video's.

Well, I tried another Internet browser - Google Chrome - and still cannot access the videos. I can't call Customer Service since they are only available during normal business hours when I work and not evenings or weekends when the average person would be using Ice Network. My software is up to date and my internet cache is clean. It's been over a week now and the only e-mail reply I have gotten is a thank you for contacting them with no attempt to resolve the issue.

What is going on with Ice Network?!? Another frustrated user suggested I report them to the Better Business Bureau. At this point, that may be the only way to get this resolved.

I have some very unpleasant news from IN. When the letter came out back in August about autorenewing there was a sentence about having the opportunity to upgrade for an additional $40.

Guess what?? I signed up for the season pass for $39 on autorenew. If I want to watch anything other than the 2013 season I would have to pay an additional $40 for that privilege. I am floored that IN did not put any information out about this other than the one sentence in that August email.

I just spent close to 45 minutes on the phone with technical support, higher up technical support, and the billing department and I was told that, yes, they are adding more archives, but unless I was willing to pay the additional $40 I would not be able to view them.

I tried to NOT SCREAM!!! I did tell everyone I spoke with that one sentence with no real information was not sufficient. Personally I don't care about speed skating at all. Yet, for my $39 I am getting speed skating, but not getting the figure skating archives. That situation is really not acceptable.

Yes, I am very grateful for the on demand competitions available this year. However, the recent SLC competition was difficult to access at times and I had to call IN for help. When we get to other competitions like the GP series how is the on demand really going to work?? Is it going to mean calling IN, waiting for 20 minutes to talk to a tech specialist and then going through several steps to actually watch anything??

The other issue I had today when I called was that all I got until after 10:30 a.m. Eastern time was a recording that the office was closed and the regular hours start at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time Monday thru Friday. I was out doing errands and by 2:00 p.m. I did get an answer rather than the recording at IN.

Sorry for the rant, but I am just really angry right now!!

I am so glad I don't do IN. I'm fine with lack of coverage these days, it's better than being so frustrated with technology.

I still don't see the archive videos from Nationals this year up yet. They do have the videos from Nationals 2012 and 2011 up finally.

What the..?!? No wonder I have been unable to access any content prior to this season. Now, I must crack out another $40 to view anything other than the current season? I assumed the "And much more!" in the figure skating package was to access historical content as during all the others years I have subscribed. I also thought the $89.99 package was to access both sports and $49.99 would get just one sport. Does anyone still have the e-mail announcing the new season rates? I am curious how much we would need to read the fine print or between the lines to determine just what we are exactly getting at each price level.

This still does not explain why none of the videos, although few, from this season are accessible. When I try to access those, I receive a black screen flanked by the IN screen header and footer. Considering what a fringe sport figure skating has sadly become, they are certainly doing their best to alienate the few fans the sport has left!

Thomb the only thing in the email was this: You will have the opportunity to upgrade the Figure Skating Season Pass to the Season Pass Premium for an additional $40 at a later date.

I don't think that there was any other info or emails sent out. The only explanation I've seen is that popup when I try to access anything other than video's from 2013. Right now the only videos available for the additional $40 are for 2012 and 2011. IN told me they are loading more, but there are technical issues so they don't know when they will be available.

When I had trouble with the live stream from SLC I called IN and they sent a "special link" to my email. When I clicked the link it took me to IN and gave me a "confirmed logout". I could then login and access the live stream. I don't know why I needed that link since I had found a 'logout" button on the account page and thought I was logged out. But, after I followed that link, I could watch.

I hope you can find a way to call IN because you probably need something like that link to watch the ondemand stuff from SLC or from anything else this year.

Tonichelle I have to say I thought IN would be the less complicated way to go. Last season I tried to find links to various broadcasts around the world but I was always worried about virus and malware issues since I had no idea what the heck I was clicking on. I do admit though that I did enjoy the British Eurosport coverage and the Latvian tv stream was kind of funny....I couldn't tell if the Latvian lady commentator was saying "oops" or "lutz".

In another thread, GF2445 stated that Eurosport would be showing Nebelhorn and gave links and info-not sure how much of the GP they will be covering (you will have to check their schedule as events come up). Easy enough to see if they are showing an event, and saves money and frustrations!!

Icenetwork overall seems so much more difficult to navigate. Most of the athlete profiles are incorrect or missing. Videos of past performances are ?

Another subscriber spoke to Ice Network today and they clarified that historical content is included in the $49.99 subscription. They are still working on getting the old content to work on the new website, but claim everyone should be able to access the current season. Funny - I still can't! I get the same black screen as before! At least they have finally acknowledged that the site is malfunctioning. Now, will they correct it in time for the Grand Prix and find a way to compensate current subscribers for this prolonged loss of service?

I don't watch skating online at all other than an occasional youtube vids of stuff that is decades old. I guess because growing up I didn't have cable/satellite and we barely got ABC I just don't get as upset with the "lack of coverage" on tv.

Don't know which thread is appropriate for this observation, but Yikes ... :bang: :(

The title of a current IN photo gallery is:
"Pair's dance at Nebelhorn Trophy"
http://web.icenetwork.com/photos/62033602
(The photos are in fact of ice dance, mostly the FD.)

How can IN not know the difference between ice dance and pairs??
A bad sign ... and I wonder whether the cause is the addition of speedskating to its coverage.

ETA, I guess the point is to make a distinction from solo dance, but still ... :confused2:

At the start of Nebelhorn IN was listing the pairs competitors with the man's name first and then the lady's name. I've been watching skating (Wide world of sports) since about 1965 and I have never seen the man's name first! Eventually this was corrected,!!but it does make me wonder if the people who are writing articles and running the website know the difference between figure skating and, say, football

Similar unfortunate garbling (although not IN's fault, as far as I can tell):
At the time of the U.S. International Classic in Salt Lake City, I was surprised to see that the official USFS online "leaderboard" listed the name of the man before the lady -- for pairs and/or ice dance (I can't remember whether for one discipline or both -- I posted about the unconventional name order at the time).
I am happy to see that the SLC online leaderboards eventually were changed to the traditional order of lady before man.

But the SLC Classic never did get Stagniunas' name right :eek:hwell::
Compounding the error, the announcer in the SLC arena at least once introduced Tobias and "Stagniunas Deividas" :( -- according to what I read somewhere on GS or FSU back then.

This is nothing new. They've been clueless for years. Whoever does their staff writing is perhaps more attuned to baseball or another sport.

My favorite IN title was "Czisny goes under the knife". (correct- she had surgery, but to say that about Alissa shows whoever wrote it has not a clue about who she is)

I don't subscribe for the articles. That's probably a good thing, because with the new **** format, I'd never be able to find what I wanted anyway.

I am quite confused about this statement. What was wrong with that headline? She had surgery. "going under the knife" is slang for surgery. What's wrong with that?

It's something you might write about a football player or Monster Truck Driver...not the beautiful, elegant, former US champion, Alissa. It just struck me as WRONG, even though the facts were correct. Part of it was the timing and context

To defend IN in this case:
Not fair to say that the person who wrote the headline has no clue as to who Czisny is.
For IN's readership, she is first and foremost an athlete (just like a football player), and she had surgery.
The same tone that you would deem appropriate for a football player is not inappropriate for Czisny, IMHO. The headline does not negate her beauty and elegance. YMMV.

I would note that SEO strategy usually determines how online headlines are composed. For that reason, I believe that they often are not as "literary" as headlines from the olden days that were written only for traditional hard-copy newspapers and magazines.
(If an SEO expert is out there, please correct me if I am mistaken.)

An athlete has surgery. They go under the knife. Not wrong, just factual. Alissa's grace or elegance has absolutely nothing to do with it. A headline is a headline, and "Csziny goes under the knife" is a whole lot more catchy and eye-drawing than "Csziny has surgery."
