Tsurskaya has great jumps, but her basics and spins need work.
I don't know if she is eligible next year; if she was born in the second half of 2001, she isn't.

*Final spots are determined by the coaching board. This is just an estimation based on ranking points earned at their respective Cup events and my ability to add numbers !
**Participants must be 14 or older by Senior Nationals in order to compete (Proklova, Sotskova, and Sakhanovich are age ineligible).

Skaters who can still add points: Shershak and skaters ranked 22 to 31. Only Shershak, Milovanova, Jumaeva and Kanukova have a shot at ended up with >22 points. Skaters ranked 25 to 28 can only hope to tie Korobeynikova with a WIN but must win the tiebreaker of best total points to qualify ahead of her. Skaters ranked 29 to 31 can only hope to qualify ahead of Agafonova but ONLY with a win. So skaters ranked 9 to 14 spots are more than likely secured!

Seems like the best upcoming girls in Russia (excluding the ones currently in the JGP) JUST missed the cutoff for net year's JGP: Tsurskaya & Viktoria Bezrukova are both born in July; Sofia Istomina & Polina Drynkina later in 2001; Evseeva is early 2002. Not sure who else is up and coming right now (aside from Gubanova who is still very young). Probably for the best as Proklova, Sakhanovich, Sotskova, Medvedeva, Iuschenko, Ogoreltseva & Kayumova are all forced to go back to the JGP and that's 14 spots right there, if they are each given 2.

It doesn't really matter who is coming to the age eligible for juniors in Russia. The rules have changed and the current JGP girls won't be able to move up, so we have four girls in JGPF who very likely will be there next year. If Ogoreltseva gets more consistent, she is likely to get again events. Yushenko unfortunately had only one event and could really do with two events (she got silver). So considering all that, maybe the ones who are just getting to the age eligible won't even be able to get event, unless they are stronger than this year's crop of girls. There is only 14 spots for Russia and 8 is likely to be gone to current junior grand prix girls, and if Ogoreltseva and Yushenko gets also two each, there are only two spots left. (and that's without thinking of Li who might be improved next year or Kaiumova). Maybe it is a good job that the next wave of great skaters is not eligible yet, to give time this current crop to move to seniors.

What about Sakhanovich?

Too young. this year there is the rule that you can qualify for senior nationals only if you are 14 years old or older. It's a pity, after she has done so well last year not be able to qualify this year.

The results of Korobeynikova are not not good in this season. Was she ill or injured?
I think puberty is her problem. She's still adjusting to her new body. But the opening 2A-3T in her FS gave me some hope. We have many talented Polinas in figureskating: Shelepen, Korobeynikova, Edmund, Agafonova. Please be nice to at least one of them, Mr Puberty!

she is done. she grew a lot even taller than Carolina Kostner now

She may be back. Shershak is also quite tall, missed a season or two and now she is back. (not saying that she can compare with the youngsters that are currently coming through, but in the majority of countries (except Russia, Japan and USA) she would be somewhere near the top.

One season.
Shershak skated all season 2011/2012 (9 competitions), at 2012/2013 had only one competition (JGP Event 26-29 Sept 2012, Slovenia), after that Russian Cup Event 12-16 Now 2013.

and now she is back. (not saying that she can compare with the youngsters that are currently coming through, but in the majority of countries (except Russia, Japan and USA) she would be somewhere near the top.

Youngsters?
Lipnitskaia (born at 05 June 1998) is one day elder than Shershak (06 June 1998). Pogorilaya is two months elder (10 Apr 1998).
For today Lipnitskaia is 2nd at World Season Best Scores table, Pogorilaya is 8th. Both ahead all the Junior Grand Prix youngsters.

There are Senior Ladies in Russia who are better than Shershak, about 10 or more.

I didn't mean youngsters such as Lipnitskaya. Lipnitskaya skates fully seniors from this season, so I don't count her as youngster any more. I meant the huge wave of talented ones that are now coming through the juniors.

I know you have better seniors than Shershak. Saying that, she would still be either the national champion or at least at the national team of any other country except of Japan, USA, Russia and probably Canada.

Not sure whether I agree about Pogorilaya being ahead of your JGPF youngsters. Russian junior nationals will show us whether Pogorilaya can beat Medvedeva, Proklova, Sotskova and Sakhanovich. Last year she couldn't. The fact that Pogorilaya posted one decent score and got herself high on World Season Best Scores table doesn't mean that she can beat regularly other skaters with a lower score at World Season Best table in competition. Pogorilaya is lucky that she didn't compete against them at GP because with how she skated, I think Proklova and Medvedeva (and possibly Sakhanovich) would beat her. They went clean; she was missing her axel - twice. And she is also lucky that they can't move to seniors next year. But it will come soon enough and we will see...

(Not sure if this is the right thread) Can anyone tell me something about Sofia Mishina, who is scheduled to compete in the Universiade in Trento: the latest video I can find is her 2012 nationals performance (where she actually skated quite well)...
