What a STACKED tech and judge team.

TECH: TC=RUS; TS=POL, UKR
JUDGES: BLR, UKR, RUS, POL, GER, FRA, GBR USA, CAN

It may be tough for HAWAYEK/BAKER to make the final.

BTW, the Tech Controller is Alla Shekhovtseva, aka Mrs. Piseev (hubby is head of the Russian Skating Federation) and the Ukrainian judge is none other than the infamous Yury BALKOV.

Hawyek/Baker won JGP Mexico, so they should be fine as long they are on the podium. I think they have a good shot of winning. They have the highest PBs in the competition.

Also just Joseph Buckland related to Nick Buckland of Coomes/Buckland?

I thought they'd have a good chance of winning, too, until I saw the tech and judge panels.

Look what happened to Bent/MacKeen last week. They won in Latvia, but their total score in Kosice dropped 9 points from their Riga score, all because of levels. Having a gold medal from Mexico doesn't guarantee Hawayek/Baker a medal in Poland. Kosigina/Moroshkin will likely score higher than H/B's Mexico score for gold and the 2nd Russian team and the Ukrainian team may score quite well, too. I'd hate to see H/B take a hit on levels and wind up 5th like the Canadians in Kosice.

Start order won't matter. K/M may be ancient (18 and 19) but they'll score over 60 in the SD and over 80 in the FD and easily walk away with gold.

That was last year. JGP scores tend to get higher each year, and often the JGP scores are higher than JW or JGPF.

K/M's highest JGP scores:
2011: 51.02, 72.46
2012: 59.44, 77.89

That's why I think they will score over 60 in the SD and over 80 in the FD. The tech and judging panels will help that happen.

So much for Chuckie's conspiracy theories

, seriously who would predict K/M to win ? they have one of the slowest steq sequences since tehir debut
L/D who just came out in juniors beat them in Tech and PCS

Also the thought that the Russian and Polish judges would somehow be allied is just totally ignorant of relations between those two countries

Over the years I have found that there is generally less politicking at the junior level than at the senior level. H/B have a nice lead here and hopefully will win to put them in the Jr. GP Final.

And I want to add kudos to Delmaestro and Lum for being in such a close 4th place after only a few months together.

I love H/B's program .. and executed with great maturity and confidence.. really fine.
