Well done, indeed! I had hopes for them last year; so glad that they are getting the scores this year.

I think so. I particularly like the fact that they are very good at getting pattern dance levels-even if there is no pattern dance part of the SD in the next quad, that shows their good training and technique :agree:

BTW, H&B got a huge score, and a PB, even though Kaitlin screwed up the 2nd twizzle, so they only got level1. Those kids are looking good for the JGPF and JWs.

my money is all on Mcnamara/Carpenter, they ahve just something speed, spins, sequences the next D/W for sure
I don't see a future in Hawayek/Baker, he is too short sorry

I cringe looking at couple with the same height Hawayek/Baker, Monko (who is taller)/Khaliavin, Parsons,
I don't see a long term future with these type of couples

Never seen Nazarova/Nikitin before, but I really enjoyed their performance! Their technical score, across both programs, was massive.

Hawayek/Baker, I already knew were good, so no comment ;) Really love this program.

Hopefully Hawayek won't get any taller and there's still a slight chance Baker (almost 20) could add another inch. He has wonderful edges.

And I always loved Denkova & Staviyski's skating - and they had a very small height difference.

The curve on H&B's curved lift is absolutely  He certainly does have great edges.

An enjoyable competition. I was very surprised with the Ukrainans, really enjoyed their performance, room for improvement on the PCS side but the TES was good. A very disappointing competition for K/M, not even on the podium and bet by their countrymen who only ranked 11th in their junior nationals last year. When this coupled debuted a few years back, I thought they were heading for big things, they seem to be going backwards. The Americans could be challenging for the JW title next year.

I cheked Bakers ISU bio and it says he was born in GB and that his mother was an olympic Ice Dancer in 1998, does anyone know what country she represented?

There might be a bit of a typo in the bio: His mom is Sharon Jones, who competed in the 1988 Olympics with Paul Askham. They competed for Great Brittan and finished 13th. Best finish at Worlds was 9th. So that explains where Jean Luc gets his skills!

ETA: Here are a few videos of Jones and Askham:

Also another fun trivia fact, their coach was Nicky Slater, who many of you know from his Eurosport commentary. :)
