P/P one of the disadvanatges of similar height, disaster FD
these two have no future together same goes for Hawayek/Baker

looks like P/V Spartacus FD is a hit

P/P are able to get the results they do by their ability to get high levels on the pattern dances and then when you come out of the short with the lead or in podium contention, you typically get judges higher PCS which helps keep you propped up. Their PCS really helped keep them on podium in this competition as they had around 10th spot in TES and 2nd spot in PCS. They are the only team this year to get two level 4 on their quicksteps in both their JGP. TWo level 4 QS gets you 14 points. Two level 1 QS gets you 6 points -big range to split up the teams. I think Baker has to go Senior next year.

To be honest, I find the Parsons really boring. Presentation wise, they're nowhere close to where Hawayek/Baker or McNamara/Carpenter are. They're not very expressive and don't really connect with the audience. The drippy music doesn't help, either.

I love Edwards/Pang and I love Les Mis, but I'm not yet sold on this dance. I did like it better than in Mexico. I love this team - so expressive with great edges, but they really have to stop giving points away with stumbles and low levels. I was really hoping they'd make the JGPF this year.

Popova/Vlasenko skated a strong technical performance and were fast. I find her warm and engaging in terms of presentation. They are rough around the edges compared to Edwards/Pang, but they had some fun moments in their dance (love the choreographic lift). Congrats on making the final!

the lost of levels is also attributed to the similar height
they are a hit or miss, same for other same height couples losing levels like Hawayek/Baker and Bent/Mckeen

this type of dancers have no future in senior, maybe with new partners

McNamara/Carpenter - 28 (1 gold; 1 silver; 265.40)
Popova/Vlasenko - 28 (1 gold; 1 silver; 263.87)
Parsons/Parsons - 26 (2 silvers; 265.83)
Edwards/Pang - 24 (1 silver, 1 bronze; 267.41)
Loboda/Drozd - 22 (two bronze; 260.54)

Competing in Estonia:
Yanovskaya/Mozgov -15 (143.39)
Nazarova/Nikitin - 13 (135.22)
Marozova/Zhirnov- 11 (128.64)
Moore/Klaber - 11 (123.91)

Loboda/Drozd will likely get cut.
Yanovskaya/Mozgov will be safe with a top 4 finish due to their first place placement. They will likely win however.
Nazarova/Niktin is safe with a second silver medal and should surpass the Parsons for No. 4 spot based on total score. If they get bronze, then they will have to beat Edward/Pang's sore.
Moore/Klaber or Marozova/Shirnov are outside shots: THey will need to get at least a silver and score higher than Edwards/Pang and Nazarova/Niktin (if they get bronze) for a spot.

But I think Edward/Pang should be able to hold on for a JGPF berth.

I love Edwards/Pang, but I think it's more likely they will be alternates.

If Nazarova/Nikitin & Yanovskaya/Mozgov finish 1-2 in either order (which is likely), then they both qualify, as do the Parsons. Therefore the field would be:

The best hope for Edwards/Pang is for Yanovskaya/Mozgov to win, and for one of Moore/Klaber or Morozova/Zhirnov to finish second and Nazarova/Nikitin 3rd. Then the last qualifier would be whoever has the best total score between Moore/Klaber, Morozova/Zhirnov, Nazarova/Nikitin or Edwards/Pang. Edwards/Pang current total score is 267.41. For Edwards/Pang to make it to the final in this scenario, the following teams would have to score:

Nazarova/Nikitin: 132.18 or less (current PB: 135.22)
Morozova/Zhirnov: 138.76 or less (current PB: 128.64)
Moore/Klaber: 143.40 or less (current PB: 123.91)

So it would be difficult even then, but they'd be the 6th qualifiers behind Yanovskaya/Mozgov, Hawayek/Brubaker, Popova/Vlasenko, McNamara/Carpenter & Parsons/Parsons.
