We are in the last three months until the Olympics! Between now and then, we have a Grand Prix Series to conclude, a multitude of National Championships (There will be tears), Four Continents and Europeans.

So in excitement of the Olympics, I wanted to open this thread for you to post links to your favourite Olympic Programs.

When you post, please
1. Give us the skater's name/couples names
2. Which Olympics (Place and Year)
3. Discipline
4. Program (E.g. SP/FS/FD/OP/OD/CD/OSP etc.)
5. Music/Program name
6. A little caption/why is this program a favourite of yours?

...AND A LINK TO THE VIDEO!

Have fun!

As a template, I'll share one of my favourites

Isabelle Delobel & Olivier Schoenfelder
Vancouver 2010
Ice Dance FD
La Quete (The Impossible Dream)

This was the program that caught my eye onto this sport. This Free Dance was their last performance in competitive skating and it was memorable because it told the story of their remarkable career. Her shoulder injury/pregnancy and putting together an Olympic campaign in four months was astonishing and heightened the excitement. Though they didn't medal and finished in 6th, this team's innovation, creativity, versatility to adjust from 6.0 to IJS and originality put them in my mind as one of the best dance couples in history.

Enjoy.

It was a impressive performance, good program, music, jumps, presence.

Sasha Cohen, SLC, 2002, Ladies, LP, Carmen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6wsyPTtaeM
It is one of her best programs, she shows a lot of passion

Philippe Candeloro, Nagano, 1998, Men, LP, D`Artagnan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDb3fuvslfc
Nagano was the first Olympic games I had seen, he was so charismatic, I can watch this program over and over without getting bored

In their last Olympics of their careers, this veteran couple produced 2 outstanding performances to win an elusive Gold Medal. The fact that they performed at such a high level even when age was not on their side makes this moment an Olympic program to remember. This is perfection!

^ I'm totally with you on this!

I have to add Paul Wylie's magnificent free skate in Albertville 1992, both Brians in Calgary, G&G & Midori Ito in Calgary 1988!

Since these types of threats usually fill up with LPs (and understandably so; that's when the medals are won, after all), I thought I'd share some of my most memorable Olympic SP performances.

Rachmaninoff's List of Top Olympic SPs

Oksana Baiul's Swan Lake, 1994

Michelle Kwan's Rachmaninoff, 1998

Yagudin's Winter, 2002

Berezhnaya & Sikharulidze's Lady Caliph, 2002

Sasha Cohen's Dark Eyes, 2006

Davis and White's Indian Dance OD, 2010

Virtue and Moir's Spanish OD, Farrucas, 2010

Oh, and of course, what GF2445 said:

Michael Jackson - Don't Stop Till You Get Enough, and Born Again don't remember the artist - from a movie, I think.

This was one of the first things I ever video taped and I have always thought I got a gem. Robin at the height of his interpretive powers. I don't think anyone has ever done Michael Jackson better. This is not the ABC broadcast but it's very good. On ABC, Dick Button and Jim McKay gushed over it. One tiny side note - I think I remember that the two children who gave him flowers (just a flash of them) are Dick Button's children.

What makes this so emotional is her comeback, she was fighting with her federation the year earlier. She finished 25th, from 2nd the year before. She came back that season and built up slowly. She won the bronze in Nagano. Beautiful, program, wonderful arm movements. She really feels it. I love it when she skated to Chinese music.

To quote Scott Hamilton: "She makes me love this sport!" Just a great moment, great charisma, and a beautiful personal story (double olympic champion, but the GDR never allowed her parents to leave the country to be present during those comps since they feared they might flee to the West. In Lillehammer, her parents were there for the first time) :)

Everyone will remember her courage and determination at the 2010 Olympics, and for good reason but her performances at the 2006 Olympics were also impressive. Her first Olympics, she was ninth after the short, and skated one of the best performances of the night, landing six clean triples and a beautifully choreographed program. She finished a very impressive fifth place. What I love about Joannie is she is everything figure skating is about, beautiful lyrical skating as well as great athleticism. She looked like she was just enjoying being at the Olympics and really skated for the moment, no pressure. She's always been one of my favourites.

Since I just added him as a favorite skater of mine, I'd as well add the performance here which made him that. I'm always moved by the "electricity" that's in the air when an athlete just gives it his all and rises to the occasion. The first 2 clean triple Axels of his career were both done here. Talk about good timing, huh? I liked the idea of representing the different Olympic Sports in his program, plus he's just such a likeable guy :) Well, except I was jealous back in the day when I heard that he was dating Shae-Lynn Bourne! Now, I was surprised to read that he had been married to Elena Berezhnaya and has 2 children with her!

Who could forget Joannie Rochette's heartwrenching skate at the Vancouver 2010 Games? Still at the top of my list for favorite all time Olympic performances. Of course, Kurt Browning's Casablanca program at the 1994 Olymipics and Tracy Wilson and Rob McCall in 1988 Olympics:

and the underdog at the 1988 Olympics, Elizabeth Manley:

6. After narrowly missing the podium (some think unfairly) in 2006, and falling off the world podium in 2007 and 2008, Pang and Tong skated their hearts out to achieve what to them might have once seemed like an impossible dream.. winning an Olympic medal and defeating Shen and Zhao in the FS. :) (nothing against Shen and Zhao - love them too!)
