Why are people such a big fan of copying costumes? That's two chinese pairs this season I've seen with copied costumes :/

It's hard because the girls are all so young (and look 12). Even more than ladies for me, it is impossible to invest because over half of them will grow and then the teams will be no more.

I would have loved to watch, but I have to work in the morning and have to sleep sometime.

I think V/Z desereved the overall victory here, they were once again undermarked on PCS, today they were ranked 2nd to the Chinese but had a good lead on TES to win the free overallt just fell short on the combined score. I really love this performance, they capture the mood so well, Maria has wonderful performance skills. I would like to see them attempt SBS triples, the jumps were 2A2T and 2F, I presume they are training them. I worry about them long term though, once she starts growing they could be some trouble ahead.

I much preferred the Chinese in the short, the free was less secure, I thought one or two of their lifts were a little scary. F/M held on for 3rd, they went for SBS 3T but they were downgraded, it was still a well sold performance. I much prefer the long of T/M to their short, the music suits their style, maybe a little undermarked on the PCS side.

My favourites D/D had a good skate, they would have been 100+ but their pairs spin was not counted, I like this programme. They are quite close in height but I think they have come through it very well. G/B brought up the rear but still had a decent performance, they attempted the best SBS jump content with a 3Lo and a 3T in combo (but she fell)

The Russian strenght in depth is crazy how many will transition to Seniors is questionable. If Maria are Lena grow they could have problems, still I will enjoy their skating for as long as it lasts.

They are my favorites too but I think the height remains a real concern for 2 reasons: first, she is only 15. She may be done growing height wise, but she also might grow for a few more years. I really do think if she grows even another half inch it is bad news; I think if she grows another full inch it is all over. She is already 5'3"; he is only 5'11". Almost all the top pairs teams have at least 10 inches between them; many have more, and almost all the top pair women are 5'1" or under. Tatiana Volosozhar is a very notable exception (she is also 5'3") but her partner is 6'2" for a total height difference of 11".

Also even if she does not grow, she really really cannot gain much weight for the current height difference to be sustainable. That is a tough thing for a very skinny 15 year old to do and still remain healthy.

So basically, unfortunately, I am not holding my breath for these two. I think she is or will be too tall for him (whether she grows more height wise or not, since it's unlikely she can maintain both her build and her health) and that given another year or two it will be all over for them, since he is 20 and almost surely done growing.

I sort of understand why they pair such younger girls with older boys but I also really don't understand. So often the girls outgrow the man through no fault of wither person's. It would really be smarter to pair 20 year old girls with 15 year old boys assuming the 15 year old could lift them.

The girls are not as young as they look! Junior Russian ladies at GP events were all 13-14 years old. Junior pairs girls look younger, but actually are older than junior ladies.

Lina Fedorova DOB 20.12.1997 - 16 years old (in a few days)
Maria Vygalova DOB 29.06.1999 - 14 years old
Kamila Gainetdinova DOB 12.10.1997- 16 years old
Evgenia Tarasova DOB 17.12.1994 - 19 years old
Vasilisa Davankova DOB 02.05.1998 - 15 years old
